“ANOTHER FANTASTIC DEVONSHIRE BREAK!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 February 2013

As a single parent of an autistic child holidaying alone with him is never a problem at the Devonshire. We are always made to feel very welcome, right from the moment our coach picks us up en route to the hotel. Every room that we have stayed in has been spacious, clean and comfortable. The choice of meals each day is great and the food delicious and for children there are separate options to choose from. The hotel is very child friendly with a cosy games room and an outdoor pool in warmer months. Staff are very good with children so parents/Grandparents can relax knowing that they are in a safe and friendly environment. There are some fantastic walks nearby - a short stroll down the hill brings you to the harbour, passing the LivingCoasts attraction. There are plenty of places to visit. We particularly enjoyed Kent Caverns and Babbacombe model village on this trip. After dinner everyone enjoys the top class entertainment with Simon that includes fun packed topical quizzes followed by prize bingo, all professionally delivered with lots of banter and fun so that laughing is guaranteed! Simon is able to entertain both adults and children alike with ease and along with the other members of staff will do anything to make your stay at the Devonshire perfect!
My little boy actually cried on our last night because he didn't want to leave so we have booked another stay at Easter!
A big thank you to all the staff from Deborah and George

We just went on a few days break to Torquay....on arrival the receptionist was very good...and the room we had (room 21) was lovely..everything matched...food was adequate but we were down there for a holiday to see family so we were out and about....The staff were very friendly...only beware that the music in the front can be loud but does settle down after 11 p.m. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to have a nice break by the seaside...and will return again...very good value for money...

Room Tip: if going in the winter months ask for an extra blanket... also front rooms are lovely but noise lev...

Just returned from our second stay at The Devonshire and it was just as fab as last year, Some parts of the hotel have been painted and is still being done the games room has been improved the kids loved it, and it can be accessed from inside now and is much warmer. All the staff were as wonderful as last year a special mention once again for Artur who was always happy efficient and smiling the kids think he is great thanks Artur you are a star. Thank you too Nigel for organising the trip to Paignton zoo there were 17 from our party who went and some other guests it was so much easier that the coach took us as the buses are not that brill for the zoo especially on a Sunday. So thanks Nigel for that. The family room was warm clean and spacious. The food was plentiful and tasty and the entertainment was good.
Thanks once again for a wonderful holiday.

I have lost count of the number of times I have stayed at this great hotel. Not 5 star luxury, but clean, comfortable and very friendly and ideal for a short break or a longer stay.. Always welcomed by the Management and the rest of the staff who will do all they can to help you during your stay. Situated just up a hill from Torquay town centre and harbour but for the less energetic, buses run up and down the hill during the day and taxi's are not expensive either. There is a well stocked bar and evening entertainment too - quizzes and bingo for those that like it, followed by a singer or comedian, etc. I shall return soon!

Hello to this Lovely Group from Liverpool. thank you so much for coming to one of the Daish's Hotels here in Torquay, this nice group of mainly Ladies spend a week with us and it was a pleasure looking after them all. we are all happy to hear you had a great time, for me it was like having 30 Nana's around me as they reminded me of my loving late Nan from liverpool. Enjoy the Claremont in Eastbourne and hope to see you again soon soon at the Devonshire.

with love and thanks to you all

Stayed 23rd Jan for 5 days. This was our 2nd time with Daish and just as enjoyable a break as the first. Sure the Hotel is a little 'tired', but it was lovely and warm, we had a lovely big, quiet room, the food was good. Special mention for Simon, who did a great job on the Quizes, Bingo and generally making us all feel welcome and special. The only negative thing I can find to say about the whole holiday was that the coach picking us up was an hour late (because of the snow, so acceptable). The best thing about the holiday is that we came home to a sale brochure from Daish and are now booked to go to Newquay in 2 weeks time - what better recommendation than we should want to go straight back.

We travelled from Leicester to the Devonshire Hotel in Torquay on January 11th for 5days. Could not fault this beautiful hotel, perhaps a little tired, but perfectly clean, our bedroom was spot on comfortable, quiet as asked for, food good quality plentyful and wide variety, even smoked haddock for breakfast if requested, Staff excellent, friendly nothing too much trouble. And the entertainment in the evening certainly kept the guests happy, the entertainment manager was a credit to Daish. All in all we will certainly be booking with this company again.

Room Tip: if you want anything special just ask or request on booking.
