Description: “One cannot think well, love well, sleep well, if one has not dined well.” So wrote Virginia Woolf and it's a sentiment we agree with wholeheartedly here at the Bay and it's why our brasserie is such an important part of of what makes Meadfoot Bay the place it is. Since its launch in early 2019 Brasserie at the Bay has proved incresingly popular with guests and locals alike who appreciate good cooking and great value in equal measure. The menu could be described as modern international with a definite emphasis on using wherever possible, locally sourced ingredients. We try to cater for all tastes and dietary requirements here at the Bay so you'll find that many dishes are gluten free or have a gluten free option. We're also adding more vegetarian and vegan dishes to our standard menu but should you have any more specific dietary needs then simply let us know at time of booking. Please note however that we cannot guarantee that our kitchen is free from any traces of nuts.

It was a wonderful varied menu and the food was fantastic. There was a good selection of wines with the house wines being very nice. Good service and comfortable surroundings.

Being locals, we feel very fortunate in finding this little gem of a venue.
Upon arrival we were shown to the lounge/bar area, which was very well styled in almost art-deco, perfect for the location.
Very relaxed atmosphere and really helpful attentive staff.
We chose to enjoy a drink in the lounge area prior to eating.
Once in the restaurant we found it to have a lovely calming atmosphere, with art work showing the Meadfoot bay area.
Starters of Salmon & Ham Hock both delicious, followed by mains of fresh locally sourced Beef & Brill.
Delicious & perfectly sized courses, so much that a sweet just wouldn't fit.
Cannot recommend the Brasserie highly enough.
Thank you to the staff & Chef!!!

We visited the Brasserie for dinner for the first time and were so impressed with this hotel. On arrival the ambience is calm and sophisticated. We had pre dinner drinks in the very stylish bar followed by a superb 3 course meal. We had the chicken and beef for main. The presentation and taste was excellent. The service was also excellent. We had tea in the lounge area afterwards and could have stayed there all night as it was so homely! Can’t wait to visit again. Definitely a hidden gem in Torquay.

It was very quiet on a wet evening in Feb, but the staff were very attentive, and the food exceded expectations.

We dined at this exquisite restaurant last evening and are devastated to be travelling on today because otherwise we would have checked in to this gourmet temple and eaten our way through every dish on the menu!
Complements to the Chef for the dill cured salmon gravadlax, pan fried red mullet, spinach & ricotta raviolo, cannon of Devon beef rump, oven roasted french trimmed chicken breast, fillet of wild pollock and rich clotted cream rice pudding. We ordered sides of mangetout and haricots verts which came with an exquisite minted butter and Pommes frites which had Parmesan cheese grated over them. A delight were the caramelised walnuts with the beef, the clams with the pollock & the sweet & sour cucumber with the mullet. The Rice Pudding reminded of a cream brûlée Exceptional!! Portions are huge! Price is minuscule!!
