I've stayed in this hotel a few times but the latest visit will be the last. The key problem was the poor customer service although the rooms looked rather dated. We stayed for my girlfriend's birthday and was promised a nice room with a view from reservations. The first room viewed the car park with very low lighting. The second room was much better but required a discussion with reception. We were not allowed breakfast table with a view as they were all booked but no one turned up while we were there. A chat with the duty manager was pointless.

Sadly wont be stayed again.

Thank you for your review I'm sorry that every aspect of your stay did not meet your expectations but delighted that reception did upgrade your room.

Again please accept my apology.

This is going to be a rare trip advisor review, this hotel was neither fabulous nor was it dreadful . There are some great things about this hotel - the spa the view and a balcony and there are some mediocre aspects ; £7 a day car park charge, creaky floorboards . But overall a pleasant stay but not every box ticked . I would come again but as previous reviewers have said , the hotel is in need of a refresh as it has an identity crisis some leaflets and reading materials say Barcelo whilst other say its a puma hotel .

Stayed at this hotel for our Christmas works bash.

Hotel is in a great position and only two mins from the town centre.

We upgraded to a suite and we were not disappointed, the bedroom was very large and we had the benefit of a large four poster bed, a large TV screen and plenty of hanging space, with a large window and balcony. The bathroom was very spacious and the ware and fittings were in excellent condition, with a separate shower enclosure from the large bath. The best was still to come when we entered the large front room, complete with Sofa, large chairs and a small Hi-Fi, but the highlight was the views over the bay, absolute fantastic, and well worth the upgrade itself.

We dined twice in the hotel, and were never disappointed with either meal, and breakfast was just as good, with a large selection to choose from.

The only negative point I would raise was on the Saturday evening when the hotel was extremely busy, the meal was served over a longer period than should have, and the bar was totally inadequate for the numbers trying to obtain a drink.

Would return again, and definitely recommend a room upgrade if available.

Keep up the good work

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view, the views are fantastic.

were invited to a promotion for p -o cruises we had a lovely afternoon tea of scones jam and cream, small sandwiches, and lovely assorted cakes only fault is that no tea pots were on each table and everyone had to go up to a table to be served with tea from a flask which somehow spoilt the image . i am thinking of taking my club for valentines day again for tea but need to make sure they remember. as last year they forgot to tell the chef and nothing was ready ,but if they get it right it the tea is superb.

Room Tip: rooms on sea side have super views

The hotel has a fantastic location with wonderful sea views, the staff are lovely and welcoming and a great selection for breakfast. Also the rooms are tidy and spacious.

However there are parts of the hotel that are looking a little' tired; this us particularly noticeable in the dining room where the fabric on he chairs is torn and threadbare.

Despite this it is still a hotel worth visiting.
