Spent 3 nights in this gorgeous house with a real family home feel to it. Dawn was an excellent host & Oscar was a star & a big hit with Dennis, our Chihuahua/terrier cross, who is usually completely unsociable initially with bigger dogs, but became best buddies with Oscar the minute we walked in the door. Our room on the top floor was lovely & plenty big enough, despite the warning on the website that it was the smallest room available. The unexpected extras were very much appreciated even though I had brought everything with me - liquid hand soap & hand cream by the sink, also shampoo, conditioner & shower gel in the shower. Plus a blanket for Dennis to sleep on, doggie treats on arrival, even some doggie poo bags. An informative folder with local info in the room, a large folder of local tourist attractions in the hall & lots of leaflets available too -so useful. Even parking permits were provided at no extra charge. The breakfasts were delicious with a large selection of everything you could possibly wish to eat & more. It was close enough to walk to town, as well as beaches & parks to walk Dennis. It really was a home away from home & I would not hesitate in recommending a stay & would definitely return to Ashleigh House if we visit Torquay again. Thank-you so very much to Dawn & Oscar for everything.

Room Tip: Our double room on the top floor was plenty big enough. Very quiet residential area within walking distance of town.

We are always looking for places to stay with our dog in Torquay & this weekend we hit the jackpot. A beautiful house nestled in previously unseen back streets, in amongst other impressive architectural buildings. We were greeted by a very friendly hostess and even more excited 'Oscar' who readily showed us to our room. Beautifully decorated & immaculately clean, it felt both cosy & warm. The en suite bathroom/ wet room was gorgeous with lots of lovely personal touches e.g. Coconut hand wash with matching hand cream. There had also been thought given to the fact we had a dog with us & Tilly was pleased to find a doggy treat & a blanket just for her. The room was so peaceful & quiet throughout our stay & we assumed we were the only guests but was pleasantly surprised to find we weren't. To say we were only minutes from the harbour, we were surprised at how quiet it was in the house. At breakfast we were greeted again by the lovely friendly Dawn who then went on to provide us with a delicious cooked breakfast. There was everything we would expect for breakfast & nothing was too much trouble. We had a wonderful weekend stay & I couldn't recommend it highly enough on every level. We felt very welcomed and comfortable throughout our stay & would definitely book again. We left to a warm goodbye from Dawn & Oscar & the bells chiming in the local church as we looked at the amazing view over the rooftops towards the town, wonderful.
