Booked this hotel in a hurry and was wondering what I might end up in.Stayed for one night and totally agree with most reviews. The Location is very good and the sea view was really nice especially on the sunny evening I booked in. Reception staff were very friendly and helpful but what lets this hotel down in a major way is the dated decor. My room was small and just so tired looking, the bathroom was a real disappointment and looked like something from the 70`s. Breakfast was okay.
For one night this hotel was okay for me but one really good make over would transform this place .

we had a weekend break here using our Tesco Clubcard vouchers, having read some of the reviews on here we were a little bit apprehensive.our fears were unfounded ,had a spotlessy clean room ,not a seaviw one but had no problem with the road outside.Yes the bathroom was tiny but it had everything we needed .Beautiful loung and terrace overlooking the sea and cream teas to die for,the breakfast were lovely with plenty of choice served by friendly efficient staff, what mor could we ask for .I certainly hope to stay here again in the future.

Beach side, so views uninterrupted. Room was huge. Staff could not have been more helpful. They were interested and helpful. Seems to cater to the retiree market (not our age group). Food style seems to reflect this. One night only was not a problem though.

on arrival we were offered a room upgrade immediately to a sea view. It was a wonderful view from our room which really made difference to our overall enjoyment of our stay. very friendly staff. Not the most up to date decor but clean and fresh with a lovely bar with comfortable seats overlooking the sea. Also an outdoor area to enjoy drinks and food. Breakfast was good. Parking excellent no extra charge which annoys me greatly when this is an extra you have not accounted for . We would definately like to return.

On arrival at the hotel after checking in the first thing that strikes you is the fantastic scenery from the lounge/bar area which over looks the bay, it takes your breath away!

The room was light and airy, again with the view overlooking the bay.

All the staff were friendly and most helpful and made you feel at ease in new surroundings, as if nothing was too much trouble.

Both the meals in the restaurant and bar were of high quality, breakfast and service was of a good standard. The Catch of the day was cooked to an exceptionally high mouth watering standard, the best Fish and chips we have ever had.

We travel and eat out extensively and do appreciate when you find somewhere of a high standard customer care and presentation.

Public transport was good and easily accessible -bus stop was just out side of the hotel

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view

MY husband and I recently returned from a night stay at The Livermead Cliff Hotel. It was a special occasion so we had booked a " Sea View " Room with shared balcony. The room was so old fashioned and dated it was a laugh, the small window hardly made the sea visable and we would have had to have all curtails closed in the already dark room so as others on the shared balcony could not see in. The furniture was white formica, I am sure that went out in the 70s ! and it was stained and falling apart.
The bedspread was dirty and the unmatched chairs were stained !
The bathroom was even worst, you couldn't sit square on the toilet and the tiles were mouldy and stained. There was on overall smell of damp, and urine !

I asked to be moved and we were shown a lighter family room. Much of the same problems arose in this room, smell, stains, furniture etc, but it was lighter so we changed rooms.

I was led to believe that the evening meal was to be " special ", it was " Special " but for all the wrong reasons. It was attrocious, tasteless and almost cooked within an inch of its life ! After a long episode of poor starter, soup and then only sweetcorn and courgettes as vegetables with our main course we chose to leave the table and take a taxi into town for a meal.

I could go on and on, but I would be here all day, and as for the advertised facilities eg, pool, sauna, squash courts, we were not told that these were in the sister hotels and not ours !

We were deducted our evening meal charge, but no offer of paying for the taxis in to town and no apology from the manager or any other compensation.

I know that this hotel probably caters mainly for the coach trip / over 65's but that is no excuse for poor rooms and food. !!

Saying this, my husband and I have never laughed so much during our stay and was great entertainment value !!!

Room Tip: Having seen 3 rooms they were all tired and smelly
