Bygones is packed with historical memorabilia not only from Victorian times but from more recent decades. It's true that it is quite dark in the Victorian street but you can see everything in the shops and upstairs it is much lighter (except in the World War 1 trench). There is something for everyone to look at but some of the models are scary for people who don't like waxworks or mannequins. It's a good place to spend a couple of hours. I have mobility problems but didn't find the stairs a problem, although you need to be careful of uneven floors in the darker areas. Wheelchair access is for ground floor only.
