Dear Reviewer

Thank you for your review i am pleased that your were happy with your room and the hotels cleanliness.
I would just like to comment on the following:
We do charge a £10 REFUNDABLE deposit for the remote controls this is because when we upgraded all our TVs we only had around 10 left of of 60 bedrooms!
50p towel charge is only charged if the towels do not need changing, again all you have to do is follow the simple 'help our enviroment' instructions on the wall. If they are dirty etc the room attendents will automatically change them.
The tea in coffee in the rooms also get replenished daily so there is no need to pay for them.
Im guessing that you didnt soil the mattress during your stay so again this point is irrelevant.
Bad lanuage towards any of my staff is not tolerated but this is general manners nobody wants to be swore at!!!!!!
We dont provide a stocked bar and bar person for you to bring your own drinks in, im pretty sure this is the rules in any bar/pub in the world!!!

Regards

M Lyons

We have just returned from a 4 night break stay at the Seascape.
The hotel is lovely and clean and welcoming
There weren't any children in the hotel, but as the hotel opens up directly onto the road with no pavement you would have to take care they didn't run directly into the traffic which could be heavty at times
We had a twin room at the rear of the hotel with a sea view. It was lovely and quiet with no traffic noise which gave us a peaceful nights sleep. Although the room was sunny in the mornings the curtains were thick enough to blank out the brightness whilst we were in bed, there is loads of hot water at all times
The food was good. I counted almost 70 steps up and down on a return trip to the dining room
this could be a challenge if you have walking difficulties, no problem for us though as it kept us fit haha
We liked the area of Torquay where the hotel is as it is away from the noise of the busy weekender pubs
Personally I found the bed hard and had to put extra padding under me

Room Tip: our room at the side of the hotel was very quiet {61}

Just returned from 5 days with Nat. Hols. hotel was better than expected, all staff were polite and sociable and were ready to help with any problems, service at mealtimes was efficient, food was good although small portions but adiquat. (would you have a cooked breakfast,& 3 course meal every day ? )
there may have been the odd downside but what do you want for the price, get a life you moaners.
every thing was clean and tidy, the en suite facilities were a tad on the small side, but we slept in the bed not the bathroom. My son who has learning difficulties enjoyed his stay very much and was made welcome by everyone, especialy the senior ladies from our party, what a laugh we all had.
If i had to pick a down side it would be not having tea/ coffee after dinner offered, dont think we should have to pay extra for this.we would certainly go again.

Room Tip: we were ground floor,no problems, facing main road, ask for what you want and they will try to oblieg...

We stayed here for three nights as part of a Newmarket Travel holiday. We really enjoyed our stay. The staff were friendly and well organised and the food although basic was very good. The only thing I would mention were the creaky floorboards no problem to us as we were on the second floor but we hope we didnt disturb the people below too much!
There were of course the usual moaners who seemed to complain constantly in the hotel and on the coach making the coach drivers life a misery! All I can say is if you want a 5 star hotel pay for a 5 star hotel!

Thank you for your review, we are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay with us. Unfortunately for ourselves and the coach drivers we will always get the people that come away to moan, but luckily for us most people do come away to have a great time! :)
I have passed on your positive coments to our team, once again thank you and hope you come and visit us again soon.

A very good hotel, food is basic but very good, rooms neat and tidy and not to small the bathrooms in some rooms a bit on the tight side but ok, staff friendly and helpful, all in all a very good two star hotel, if you go expecting a good BASIC hotel you certainly enjoy this one.

We stayed here for 3 nights from 7th - 10th June as part of a Just Go holiday.

Check in was one of the most efficient I have ever come across. The hotel manager came onto the coach as we arrived, explained how check-in would operate as well as a few key things about the hotel (meal times, etc).

Rooms and keys had already been assigned prior to our arrival and all we had to do was collect the key from one of the members of staff and take our luggage to our room. There were no long, disorganised queues at check in as I've often experienced. Luggage was unloaded from the coach and put in the hotel lobby and further assistance was available if necessary.

Our room was on the first floor. It was quite small, but adequate for a 3 night stay. The bed was hard. We had a bathroom without a proper shower, which from my point of view was an inconvenience since I hardly ever take a bath. There was a shower attachment, but it was a hand held one and there was no shower curtain, so inevitably I made the floor wet when using it. Had we been staying longer we would have asked about the possibility of moving to a room with a proper shower. Supplied toiletries were minimal. Just one very small bar of soap.

We were booked on a bed, breakfast and evening meal basis. We had the same waitress - Trudie - every day. She was very friendly and always had a smile on her face. The food itself was plentiful, by no means gourmet, but certainly edible. At breakfast there was a choice of cereal, grapefruit and fruit juice (self service), followed by a choice of cooked breakfast, tea or coffee (waitress served). For evening meal there was a choice of 2 starters, 3 main courses and 3 desserts all waitress served. No drinks were included with the evening meal (apart from a jug of chilled water), so we purchased drinks from the hotel bar and took those with us. If you wanted tea or coffee with your meal, you had to pay £1 extra for this. Bar prices were consistent with what you would expect to pay in a pub or restaurant such as a harvester or beefeater.

The hotel obviously caters for a lot of elderly customers, as it was possible to borrow a walking stick if needed. I mention this, since I was somewhat incapacitated during our stay and the loan of one of these proved a huge benefit to me. The hotel information pack stated a £5 returnable deposit for the loan of these, although I was told this wasn't necessary.

The hotel does have free Wi-Fi, although it is only accessible in the Wi-Fi lounge which I would have to say is more like 'the Wi-Fi dungeon'! It is right in the bowels of the hotel. I don't know why it couldn't be moved to somewhere a little more comfortable. There is a lounge area behind reception and that to me would be the logical place to have it.

The hotel has a small garden with a couple of tables and chairs and I sat out there for a few hours on the Sunday afternoon. Yes, remarkably, we had glorious weather!

I'd definitely have no hesitation in recommending this hotel if you're thinking of visiting Torquay. Do bear in mind that it is on a hill, some distance from the seafront. Public transport and taxis do seem plentiful though.

Room Tip: Try and get a room with a sea view if you can.
