My partner and I booked a three night stay at a different local Torquay hotel, but upon arrival and inspection of the room we felt it would be best to try rebooking elsewhere. After several phonecalls, we found The Meadfoot Bay hotel and they had a vacancy! We checked-in the next morning - the owner Chris (sp?) made preparing our room a priority so that we could check-in early. The first of many "above and beyond" touches we experienced over the next couple of days. We were given a very thorough explanation of the services/amenities on offer and escorted to our room. It was clean, bright and welcoming - everything you want in a hotel room. The breakfast is awesome - loads of homemade goodies. The hotel even makes and sells their own delicious jams and chutneys...incredible! The common areas were clean (immaculate.) The bar and social area for late evening relaxing is wonderful. It is walking distance into town where you'll find an array of restaurants and bars, as well as shopping and other popular seaside attractions. This family-owned and run hotel is as special as they make you feel from check-in to check-out. Book here! You'll be glad you did. We are definitely planning future visits to the area and the only place we will be staying is with Meadfoot Bay Hotel.

We stayed five nights at the Meadfoot Bay Hotel. The hotel is spotlessly clean, staff helpful and friendly, breakfast amazing, loads of choice and the cooked breakfast was perfect. I imagine all the rooms are good but we stayed in the St Andrews Suite the bedroom was comfortable, contemporary and had a comfy sofa.. The bathroom, what can I say! it was the biggest bathroom I have ever had in any hotel I have ever stayed in. It had his and her basins, a spa bath, shower, large art deco bronze tinted mirrors and a quartz floor that sparkled like diamonds. Its worth staying in the St Andrews Suite for the bathroom alone.

Room Tip: St Andrews Suite, bedroom lovely, bathroom even better !!!

I've stayed in a number of Torquay hotels and this was my first stay at the Meadfoot Bay Hotel. I cannot believe some of the reviews I've read having stayed here as I was stunned by the loveliness! I was greeted by the charming hoteliers and welcomed into their beautiful hotel which looks wonderful on their website video but even more wonderful in reality. The rooms at the Meadfoot Bay Hotel are extremely well maintained, impeccably clean, and the breakfast was delightful- freshly cooked to order which is rare for a hotel, and much appreciated! The hotel is situated in a very pretty location, minutes from a gorgeous beach with a cafe, and close to town and the evening vibes of Torquay. I enjoyed every minute of my stay, felt very well looked after, and will definitely be returning next year!
