My husband and I recently went to Torquay for a short break ,after consulting TripAdvisor we decided to stay at the Haytor hotel.Upon arrival we were greeted by Chris who spent time going through everything we needed to know about the hotel and local attractions.Nothing was to much trouble and he even printed some vouchers off for us that we could use at the local restaurants. Our room was great, nice and modern and very clean.Breakfasts were also very good with plenty of variety. We went away to relax and recharge and we couldn't have picked a better place to do this - we would highly recommend and we can't wait to return later this year!

We stayed for six nights at this hotel. It's called a hotel, but is more like a really friendly B&B which is much more personal. The location is perfect if you are visiting Torquay and is easy walking distance to the harbour front, shops & some incredible restaurants. Chris was very helpful and a great host. We mentioned that we love to visit old world pubs and he made a reccomendation and even reservations for us. The breakfast is excellent as well and Jean, who served us for breakfast was a delightful lady. If you are looking for a nice quiet getaway in Torquay, look no further than The Haytor Hotel !

Lovely welcome, owner Chris was very helpful and informative. Hotel itself is in a quietish area but within easy walking distance of the quay with it's plethora of restaurants and bars. Whilst a bit disappointed that we couldn't have the 4-poster bed, our room featured the biggest bed ever made! Hotel was quiet and elegant and everything you'd want for a romantic weekend away. Was spotlessly clean, and the breakfasts were lovely.

We have just spent a lovely weekend at the Haytor Hotel. The Owners and staff made us feel very welcome. We found the hotel to be both clean and well maintained. The room we stayed in was beautifully presented and the Super King size bed made for an easy nights sleep. We'd both would like to thank Christopher, his partner and the staff for their friendliness as it was integral to our enjoyable weekend.

We have just come back from a two night stay at the Haytor and cannot think of a single complaint! The location is excellent, yes, it is up a steep hill but it is only about 200 yards of incline and really it is not a problem (we are in our fifties). The free parking is also very useful in a place like Torquay. The rooms we stayed in was a premier room and it was beautifully decorated, lovely nautical decorations, a huge bed, crisp white bedding and fluffy white towels. The room was large and immaculate. There was very little noise from adjoining rooms, the bed was comfortable so all this meant a very good night's sleep! Breakfast was good, the dining room very nicely furnished with each room having an allocated table. I was able to have a breakfast which was not on the menu with no problems at all. The lady serving the breakfast was very friendly and helpful. We didn't use the bar in the hotel but one is available, the only thing I thought was strange was the bar closed at 11.00 p.m. but that last orders were at 10.00 p.m.? All in all I would highly recommend this hotel - most of the guests seemed to be middle-aged couple so a very peaceful environment! Not a place for stag parties etc.

Visited Torquay to see a concert at the Princess Theatre which is about a 5 -10 minute walk away. Hotel is very welcoming with friendly staff and owner Chris. Location is great as has a spacious car park and close proximity to numerous good restaurants and shops. Room was nice and comfortable although hot water was very hot in bathroom. Breakfast very good.

Stayed for 3 nights. Hotel is less than five minutes walk from restaurants and harbour. Easy parking on site. High quality modern room, spotlessly clean. Terrific 6ft bed, very comfortable. Bright breakfast room and lots of choice, all freshly cooked. Nice lounge to have a drink in before eating out. The two hosts Chris and Robert are really friendly and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble.
