“First Class Hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 June 2014 via mobile

Just returned from our fourth visit to the Haytor Hotel having spent five nights there.
Roger and Peter are perfect hosts with customer comfort and satisfaction being their primary concern.
It is a superb small hotel with great rooms and a fantastic breakfast served by the delightful Jean.
The Haytor is ideally situated close to the harbour and other local amenities, including a selection of great restaurants.
Looking forward to another visit in September.
Highly recommended.

My husband and I have stayed at the Haytor Hotel twice in the last year. We found the location perfect as it is only a 5 minute walk to the harbour. The decor is gorgous and of a high standard and seems to have been refubished recently throughout the hotel. All the rooms are inividual and both we stayed in were very comfortable. The complimentary toiletries are high quality too. One of the rooms was a small double and there was enough room for what we wanted. The breakfast is also really good, particularly the scrambled eggs!! Best we've ever had! The staff were very accomodating and we felt right at home and very relaxed. I have recommended this hotel to friends and family and probably would not stay anywhere else in Torquay for the price. Can't wait to return! My only negative comment is the check out time was a little early for us at 10:30am.

Room Tip: Have a look online at the photos of the rooms. When you book you can ask which one you have been all...

Absolutely gorgeous hotel! Stayed for 1 night with my partner, and will definitely be returning! Room was beautifully decorated and the bed was divine! We were greeted at reception by Roger, who told us about the local area, including places to eat and visit. Our room was immaculate, with tea and coffee facilities, and a fair sized wardrobe for hanging clothes. We were given a key for our room, and the main front door, meaning we were able to go out for dinner later without the worry of intruding or awakening anyone! At breakfast, each room had a designated table, so there was no worry of not getting a table. Breakfast was served between 08:30 & 09:30, giving you plenty of time to relax, and sort out your belongings before check-out at 10:30. Totally faultless and look forward to returning!

Many thanks for taking the time to leave a review and for your kind comments. Hope to see you again soon.
Just so readers know, when booking direct through our website, you can select either an early check in or late check out for a small additional fee allowing you to extend your stay at one or both ends to make the most of the time you have. These have limited availability and on a first come first served basis, just select the option on our website booking page.

Stayed 2 nights in March and will return in the future. Spotlessly clean bedroom and en-suite as is the whole premises and nicely decorated. High quality bed linen and comfortable twin beds. Breakfast cooked to order and nice coffee. The recommended restaurants were also very good for dinner.

Haytor Hotel is a great place to stay. It is ideally located, 2minute walk to the Oldest Pub in Torquay (The Hole in The Wall) and a 5minute walk to the Harbour side, Restaurants & local shops.
My husband and I stayed for 4 nights at this Hotel & wish we had booked for a longer stay.
The Hotel was clean & tidy with tea & coffee making facilities in the room. The staff were welcoming, friendly & attentive, nothing was too much trouble.
Breakfast was very nicely done, providing a good range of food & beverage's.
The Hotel is set in lovely grounds with a terrace that gave a very peaceful setting.
Couldn't fault a thing and we will definitely be returning again.

My wife and I stayed here for a weekend after reading all the positive reviews on here and we weren't disappointed. The hotel is very easy to find and has ample parking. We were greeted on reception by one of the owners who told us all about the place as well as things to do in the area. The whole hotel is immaculate and very well maintained - you'd almost think it had only just been cleaned a few minutes ago.

The room was of ample size with a large space to hang clothes and a nicely appointed bathroom. Once again, incredibly clean and well maintained. The bed was incredibly comfortable!!

You get a front door key meaning you can come and go as you please which was nice, and town is just a few minutes walk from the front door. There is a small but perfectly functional bar near the entrance with a nice atmosphere which we used on both nights.

Breakfast is taken in the large breakfast room with your own allocated table based on your room number (served between 08:30/09:30) so no need to worry about not getting a space. The breakfast menu was good and you can choose what you wish from it, as well as helping yourself to the buffet before you order.

If I had one minor negative to say it would be that the walls seem to be quite thin so we could hear quite a lot of background noise from other rooms before we were going out in the evening however at night the other guests were not antisocial so we did not hear anything during the night!

Would definitely recommend to any couples or business people in the area but of course bear in mind no children can stay at the hotel under 12 yrs.

Home from home. wonderful hosts, friendly atmosphere, beautiful accommodation run by two lovely people, delicious breakfast, loved watching the squirrels and ducks in the garden while having afternoon tea, and just a short stroll from the harbour, beach, shops and restaurants. Will definitely be back.

Room Tip: Room 16 was beautiful.
