Excellent Hotel stayed for 2 days, hotel is a short walk to the harbour. Parking was free, food was very good. Got given loads of information on the different restaurants we could go to and the different attractions in the area with money off vouchers on some attractions. Excellent place to stay it's not to noisy being close to the town and is quite in the day and night. Would recommend to friends and family and would definitely go back again if I am going to Torquay.

We stayed for three nights in July which was a last minute break, we found everyone to be wonderful helpful people, nothing was too much trouble, everything was very clean and it has got to be the best breakfast I have had in a long while. I would certainly recommend this Hotel to anyone visiting Torquay for a short break or a longer holiday.

I stayed at the Haytor Hotel for 2 nights and it was a wonderful stay. A beautiful building a few minutes walk downhill to the harbour, with it's own free car park and garden with outdoor seating. The welcome we received from Roger was lovely; very welcoming and plenty of information on local restaurants and things to do. We stayed on the ground floor - a small but perfectly formed room that was clean and comfortable, with free wifi and plenty of leaflet/booklet information available at the hotel about Torbay and beyond.

The room had free tea and coffee, bottles of water and duo packets of biscuits. The bathroom was stocked with good sized and quality free toiletries; body wash, shampoo, conditioner and a body lotion. The room also had a decent hair dryer and a tv. The beds were very comfortable - not too hard or soft, with two plush pillows each. The hotel was nice and quiet too.

The breakfast was fab - in a really nice dining room where you can help yourself to cereals, yogurt, juices and fruit, with hot drinks and cooked breakfasts to order. The breakfast was tasty and the service was excellent. No complaints whatsoever.

I'd recommend this Hotel to anyone visiting Torquay, and if I ever return to the area, I'll be booking in here again. No complaints - had a wonderful stay - thank you to everyone at The Haytor Hotel.

This was a 4 day trip and was our second stay at the Haytor and we found it equally as good as before. Roger and Peter were very good informative and welcoming hosts from the moment we arrived. Excellent choice at breakfast and the homemade yogurt if devine. Our breakfast was perfect every day using lots of local quality produce. Our room was a small double overlooking the garden. We will definetly be returning!

Room Tip: Room 12 is a sunny small double room overlooking the garden on the 3rd floor.

Just a minor correction to your room tip. Room 12 is actually on our second floor (we have rooms on the ground, first and second floor). The room is a Standard double and comes with a bath. We have other Standard Doubles which come with ensuite showers, as well as Small double and Executive and Superior Kings, and our Premier Rooms.
Best wishes.

Stayed at the Haytor hotel 19th-21st July. Room (3) was large and spotless looking out onto lovely gardens. Breakfast was excellent. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. Free car parking and Wi-Fi. Good location-near to town but far enough away for peace and quiet. Great weekend ,would stay again .

Our 4th stay at this delightful hotel. You will want to come back.

A great welcome and the hospitality continues during your stay. Always relaxing, lovely rooms and wonderful garden.

We will definitely be back.

The Meadfoot area of Torquay give a perfect tranquil alternative to the town, despite the town only being a short walk from the hotel. Explore the coastline, heading from the hotel to Meadfoot beach and onto Babbacombe, via Ansteys Cove. Do it on foot - hard going but so worth it.
