After staying in several B&B's recently which have been somewhat disappointing and have let down the area in which they are based, it was refreshing to stay in a B&B as lovely as Haytor Hotel. Warm reception, lovely rooms, very peaceful and the most beautiful bird song first thing in the morning. Good and hearty breakfast - a credit to Torquay!

Once again we enjoyed a lovely weekend break at the Haytor thanks to the hospitality shown by the owners and the staff.

They do their best to make all guests feel very welcome and the rooms are well appointed and very comfortable. Lovely gardens, pleanty of parking and very quiet. A real gem ideal for couple and families.

We will definately be back

Lovely, Lovely, Nice, Nice. Give it a try.
But I sincerely hate this review site, totally inflexible, forcing every user to conform to one size fit for all. So I give this site 0 out ot 5.

We stayed here recently for a family get together in Torquay. The hotel is quiet, clean and very well furnished in a modern but classic style - and no chintz anywhere!

Chris is an excellent host who with his partner has amassed some very interesting carved artifacts from Africa which are well displayed throughout the common areas. The bar is particularly lovely.

It is within easy walking distance of the Town as well as Meadfoot beach and is located in the regency/Victorian part of the old town.

Having seen the comments about the small rooms, as ever do your own research. We always pay for an upgraded room wherever we stay so you pay your money and you take your pick.

We would stay here again without hesitation.

Just spent a 2 night break in this lovely friendly hotel. Very clean and decorated to a high standard. Tea and Coffee facilities in room replenished daily, along with bottled water.
Breakfast very good, although no evening meal available. Within walking distance for shopping and the harbour, the hotel is situated on a steep hill. Host Chris was very charming and welcoming.
Safety pin produced on request to save modesty! Would deffinately stay here again.

We stayed for 4 nights on the special offer and would like to thank Chris for being such an excellent host, nothing is too much trouble and there are many lovely guestures like bottled water/tea, coffee and biscuits in the room which is replenished daily. One of the reasons we chose this hotel is due to it being non smoking and no children under the age of 12
The hotel is on a hill and there is plenty of car parking in the hotel grounds.
We enjoyed watching the ducks whilst eating the lovely breakfast cooked by Robert.
We used the hotel as a base to go to the Eden project and Brixham. There are lovely coastal walks and the village of Cockington is well worth visitng.
There are a number of pubs and restauants within walking distance, the hole in the wall is well worth a visit.

Thanks again Chris for a lovely break.
