“Lovely stay!”
Reviewed 6 August 2014

My fiancè and I came to this hotel for a mini break. We had a lovely break! A huge difference to our previous stay at the Wentworth House Hotel in Bath (my review makes an interesting read!). Here, the pool was lovely and refreshing after our journey. The hot tub was exactly what we were expecting, with extra bubbles! The staff were very friendly and the food was very nice. The rooms were perfect. We stayed in one of the premium double rooms...this was so much more than we were expected. Absolutely lovely hotel. We are already looking at dates to return to this hotel. Very happy customers! :)

On the morning of our arrival I phoned the hotel to ask a quick question. I was told he was busy with breakfast and would I phone back in an hour. As we were leaving shortly for the long drive I asked if someone else could help me, and to my astonishment the phone was put down. Frankly I couldnt believe it and thought about cancelling but we had pre-paid, so off we went. We had a ground floor suite, quite expensive, comprising large room with 2 sofas and a small terrace overlooking the car park. Room clean, though no bathroom window and noisy extractor fan. It was hot, but no air con or fan. The hotel and garden area were nice and the owners and other staff friendly, and a number of the guests were returners. We did enjoy our stay, but could have done without that initial unhelpful response on the phone.

We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a relaxing break. The staff were all very welcoming and friendly and standards of cleanliness were superb. The pool area was like a little sun trap with plenty of seating and tables to sit down and enjoy the lovely weather. It is situated in what we found to be a very convenient location with a short walk to the beach and Babbacombe and Cockington also within walking distance. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed staying here, thank you to all of the staff for making it so enjoyable!

We and another couple pat and john have just had a lovely weeks long stay at the riveria lodge in Torquay...this is our second visit...carston and Lee have a lovely place...it's spotlessly clean throughout...their attention to detail is second to none...they and their little team have made our stay a great one. Nothing is too much trouble. The breakfast is plentiful and cooked to perfection. There's plenty of choice too. They also do lunchtime snacks and an evening menu if you fancy staying around the hotel. The pool area is gorgeous and with an added bonus of a free hot tub.
I wouldn't hesitate to stay again, and I would certainly recommend to anyone....what a lovely place you have guys...well done...and thanks for a fab holiday xxx

Upon arrival we were warmly greeted by Carsten who immediately had our cases taken to our rooms, (18 & 19). We were checked in & shown the facilities & given a map of Torquay.
Even though our rooms were "compact" they were more than adequate for our needs.
We were immediately impressed at the attention to detail & immaculate cleanliness of this hotel.
There was a full breakfast buffet table & a choice from the menu.
Evening meals are cooked fresh and are delicious.
The pool (23c) hot tub (73c)and outside area is comfortable and so relaxing. We used the hot tub & pool every day.
The rooms are cleaned to a high standard everyday.
We could not fault this hotel. Carsten and Lee work so hard to look after their guests. Nothing is to much trouble, from a fan for the room to a towel for the pool, all in all a first class hotel.

Just returned home after 3 nights in Torquay, the English Riviera. This is our first UK holiday in years as we travel abroad most of the time. We were not disappointed at all. The hotel was lovely and clean and busy!

The pool area with hot tub and garden was a delight, and worth booking this hotel for these facilities alone. As already mentioned Carsten was ever attentive, remembering our breakfast order and making us feel very welcome. The room was a double, but small, but you do not go on holiday to spend time in your room especially as we were blessed by lovely weather. Torquay has alot to offer and we were pleased to see so many people enjoying this very english sea side town. Brixham, Babbacome and Cockington Village are also worth a visit. The only real issue is the hill climb back from Torquay to the hotel, but a taxi is cheap enough if the heat gets too much! We would come to this hotel again and recommend it to friends!

We have just spent four nights here and have to say what a fantastic time we have had. We don't usually holiday in the UK but were in the area for a wedding so decided to make a holiday of it. I booked this hotel based on TA reviews.
We arrived early and had to wait until 2pm to check in so went for a walk in to the Town. The walk was only about five minutes and took us straight to the sea front.
Once we got checked in we found be had a lovely double room which was spotless and airy.
From the moment we arrived to the time we left Carsten made us very welcome and was hilariously funny. This man literally runs the front of house by himself, from breakfast to lunch to dinner. He really couldn't do enough to help and he made our stay fantastic.
We travelled 10 hours to get down to Torquay and then 10 hours back but I would do this again to stay at this Hotel again.
It was spotless, clean, well maintained and the pool area was great.
The food was lovely, again no issues at all, and we ate there one night, the food was lovely and Carsten made me a meal on request that wasn't on the evening menu.
I can 100% recommend this hotel to anyone, thank you for a great time!!
