We stayed here in a familly room which was really roomy and bright and fresh. Great location for restuarants etc even used bowling alley when it was raining, only 5 min walk. Breakfast lovely, and great amenaties, dvds for room etc, would def go again.

We stayed just one night as we were en-route to North Devon after seeing a relative. We were delighted with the welcome, cleanliness and the incredible care and detail to the furnishing of the room. Having been "in the trade" for a number of years before retiring, we could really appreciate the thoughtfulness and consideration that had been put into the hotel.

We are staying at the Palms for a few days. We are really enjoying our stay, our host is extremely welcoming and we have enjoyed a great cooked breakfast every morning. We are really pleased with our room (four poster) - it is really comfortable and we have enjoyed exploring the area from here. A great base for the sights of the Torbay area. Would stay here again.

Excellent hotel which puts so-called superior places to shame. A real value for money . Graham and Judith couldn't be friendlier and promote a very relaxed atmosphere. The breakfasts are an added bonus , enough to satisfy the hungriest of travellers.
We stayed in the 4 poster room, which without being outstanding was more than ample.Although evening meals aren't available at the hotel, there are plenty of places to eat within walking distance, especially a cafe/ bar called Offshore which I would highly recommend.
The location was great, about 300yrds from the harbour and town centre. Be prepared for plenty of walking, the scenery at times is stunning.

I stayed at this hotel during the christmas break2008. Its located just next to the torquay museum and it walkable distance from the beach. It has a bus stand nearby from where one can catch bus for babacome village, tavern cave etc. ITs close to reasturants and market. Food was nice and rooms were also ok, but nothing great. It had a common room where there were a few games. A collection of DVDs were available for a nominal deposit (refundable). Hospitality was good. There is an offstreet parking in front, which is free till 8 AM or 9 AM in the morning. There is also private parking at the rear of the building but its a little away from hotel, Its about 2 min walk from the hotel and has a gate with lock.

Had two nights here 18th and 19th September. Hotel was picked for location. Booked on laterooms and initially booked the four poster room (on offer) Owner then rang to say room had already been booked (problem with website booking) Offered the family room instead - double bed and bunkbeds. Bedroom was very nice and bed very comfortable, bathroom tired in comparison. Breakfast adequate (not massive portions) Owners friendly. We managed to park round the back. Perfect location, just minutes to harbour, shops, restaurants etc. Really good mexican on same road (forget name) and nice pub opposite - think it was called the clock tower. Beach in Torquay not great (compared to say Weymouth) We just sat in the sun outside the bars/cafes on the harbour people watching all day! Walked to Meadfoot beach (not a beach, just rocks!) Hotels by this beach looked very nice indeed although would be a fair walk back at night up a hill (in heels!) so not ideal. If you want value for money and great location, pick this hotel.
