“Fantastic B&B”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 April 2014

My Mum amd I stayed for two nights on the 11 & 12 April. The rooms were lovely and immaculately clean. The breakfast was prepared by Les & Marion, there was so much to choose from, I had a cooked breakfast which was perfectly cooked and delicious! The bread, jams, marmalade and chutneys are homemade by Les, yummy! We will definitely be going back again sometime. Thank you Les & Marion for your warm and friendly hospitality.

Have just spent two days at Marion and Les' B and B in Torquay. What a wonderful place to stay. A 5 star Hotel could not beat this. Absoulutely delicious breakfast with home made bread, jams, marmalades and chutneys. Nothing was too much trouble and it was home from home.

We stayed for 2 nights on 28th and 29th March 2014, this being our 1st visit to the Charterhouse. We've stayed in a few good hotels in Torquay and usually rely on the reviews on Tripadvisor to make our choice. In this instance, the previous hotel which we were happy with had no rooms available so based on the reviews for the Charterhouse, we made our booking. We're so glad we did; this is by far the best we have stayed in. We had booked a Superior room but on arrival were upgraded to the Riviera room which had fabulous sea views and an outstanding bathroom and was absolutely spotless. Considering the hotel is only 75 yards from the seafront, it was surprisingly quiet and apart from hearing the odd train and cars, the predominant sound was birdsong. Marion and Les are very friendly hosts and when we had a problem with the shower on the first morning, it was quickly rectified. The breakfast was delicious, with home made bread and marmalade, and the sausages in particular are really tasty. Although we didn't spend a great deal of time at the hotel as we were visiting family in the area, we would definitely stay again and highly recommend it to anyone considering it.

We stayed here from Sunday 13th to Thursday 17th April 2014. We initially booked this short break on the basis of other reviews and we couldn't have chosen a better place - we certainly won't be paying more and staying in a hotel in future. We stayed in one of the garden rooms with the missus, myself, 2 monsters aged 10 and 5 and an 18 month old dog. The room was modern, well decorated and clean. The hosts (Marion and Les) set a very high standard in customer service excellence. The breakfast is second to none. Will definitely be staying again!

Very friendly hosts, excellent breakfast with homemade marmalade and bread, big and light room, great location for a holiday with many sights to see (outstanding: Greenway House). I can only recommend Torquay and the Charterhouse.

Room Tip: I had a spacious room with a sea view.

Charming location, delightful hosts (Marion and Les), fabulous, spacious bedroom with the most wonderful bath with cool lighting and the best breakfast you will ever ever taste! Les makes his own bread, jams and chutney and the full English is to die for! Five star service - I cannot recommend this B&B enough. Don't stay anywhere else in Torquay. Marion and Les are the perfect hosts - very friendly and extremely helpful.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Riviera Room which was very spacious, lovely decor, huge bathroom with deep bath, s...

We have just returned from our first trip to Devon where we stayed with Marion and Les. Marion was an amazing host - our room was so comfortable and relaxing, the breakfasts were enormous and so tasty (homemade bread, jams and marmalades, delicious eggs and full English breakfasts) and the recommendations we got for things to do and places to go were invaluable (Broadsands walk, Angel tea rooms, No. 7 fish restaurant). Lovely, accommodating hosts and a fantastic trip. We would definitely recommend staying here.
Thank you!
Alice and Keith

Room Tip: The Riviera room has a bath with mood lighting and is very comfy!
