We have just returned from our third lovely stay at the Charterhouse in the last 15 months. We now feel like we are visiting old friends such is the warm welcome we receive from Marion in particular. This time we stayed in a superior room which was very nicely finished with all the usual amenities and including a larger ensuite bathroom than the other 2 rooms we'd stayed in. The breakfasts were as delicious as previously reported with every conceivable choice available. All in all we thoroughly recommend the Charterhouse!

Very welcoming, excellent breakfasts, great location for bus, train or car travel, comfortable and clean rooms with good facilities. This was our second visit this year - we were so impressed we came again.

This charming B and B has it all: a great location, a charming building and grounds, and - best of all - a marvelous hostess! Marian welcomed us with tea, coffee, and cookies and did all she could to make our Torquay stay a highlight of our trip.

Marion is probably the hostess of all hostesses. If you want to feel at home while being away, then that is the place to go. The house is a late Victorian House in a beautiful garden setting. The rooms are charmingly furnished and very clean. Breakfast was really generous; continental and freshly cook. Just wonderful.

We enjoyed the stay very much and therefore recommended The Charterhouse to our friends. In the neighborhood, there are a few places, we will have a look at in the near future. The Charter house will certainly be the place to call for vacancies!

Many thanks for making our stay unforgettable.

You will be greated by Marion, who is an absolute delight. We had a sea view room which was lovely, very tidy and clean and presented well. The breakfast was as big as you wanted and kept you going the whole day, (you must try Les's homemade marmalade). Any information you required Marion was on hand to help you, while we were there she had many of her regulars staying which says it all.

marion & les made us feel like we'd known them for years. They were so friendly and welcoming. The hotel is situated on a quiet secluded lane only 2 mins away from the sea front. The rooms were excellent and decorated to a high standard paying great attention to detail and comfort. The breakfast was plentiful in both choice and volume and always served with a smile and friendly word. Having not stayed in Torquay before we ventured out in the evening to the town centre which was a very pleasant 20 min stroll away along the sea front to the harbour. Will definately visit again next year for a longer stay as was so impressed with marion, les, and their gorgeous hotel.
