Stayed here for four nights on a coach trip and found it clean and comfortable. The food (vegetarian option) was fine and the waitresses very polite and efficient. Would have preferred a shower rather than bath but for four nights what's the big deal? No, its not the Waldorf Astoria but for the money I paid I wasn't expecting it. The pool is nice, my boyfriend said the non vegetarian food was ok and overall it was a nice hotel.

this hotel is not fit for a dog let alone a human, we stayed for 4 nights with a coach party and I have never seen anything like it, the rooms are dirty, mouldy and damp. the food was terrible and the waiting staff were rude and roughly dressed. I can not express more deeply that I would not recommend anyone stay here, my duvet was stained with urine and the springs were coming through the mattress in the shower there was pubic hair all on the tiles when we arrived and they were there all week and the rooms are supposed to be cleaned every day, what a joke, the swimming pool was awful and I wouldn't get in it looked like it carried hundreds of dieses. DONT STAY HERE!!

I stayed at this hotel on 26th May and wrote a review on Tripadvisor but it has been deleted. Why? The hotel was dirty, as was the cutlery, crockery and glassware. The single room that I was in was dirty, with dated and chipped furniture. The shower was mouldy with water bubbling up out of the plughole every time adjoining rooms used their shower and toilets. The whole place needs a serious deep clean and makeover. It was a cheap weekend admittedly but is it too much to ask for cleanliness? This would be a beautiful hotel if only the owner would have it cleaned and redecorated - shame.

My wife and i stayed at the Burlington Hotel Torquay in June 2013 with a bus tour for four nights, the rooms were small but clean and comfortable, food was was bland and served on unheated plates making it cold when reaching the table. There is no easy access as there are stone steps up to the entrance, and 15 stairs down to the dining room, in fact stairs wherever you go. ( AND THERE IS NO LIFT) This hotel is not suitable the disabled or guests with walking difficulties.

Room Tip: Rooms on the south side ere quieter

Stayed here with a coach party - good points, food was fine, nightly entertainment. Unfortunately the condition of the bedrooms which we had was terrible. Damp, decor grubby including a bathroom radiator which was covered in rust. Lots of stairs down to dining room and also to bedrooms. We had also booked a twin room and found that we had a double on arrival, not ideal for two elderly ladies. Although this was resolved the next day the replacement room was so dark all the lights had to be on whatever the time of day.

Room Tip: Ask to inspect it first!

Just spent a 2 night break at this hotel with my wife and daughter. Excellent value for money. The food was good, rooms clean and spacious and the entertainment, although not my thing, was alright. Of course you can find fault. The décor is dated as are the tellys and we had a bath rather than a shower but it doesn't really matter. There are more than enough good points to make it a good hotel to go to.I will certainly go again
