“Baby seal pup!”
Reviewed 23 July 2014

What a lovely day, great animals, staff and food plus a baby seal! The loos were clean and not smelly and the inside parts were cool even on a hot day, lots of activities to do for toddlers too, you must go

“Great way to spend an hour or two.”
Reviewed 22 July 2014 via mobile

Kids just love going there. Especially to see the feeding times. Great views from here as well of Torbay. Just don't expect your visit to last more than two hours. Otter feeding was great.

“Penguins ..enjoyed but came away a little disappointed for price”
Reviewed 22 July 2014

As I love penguins was really excited to visit and was the first place we went on arrival to Torquay, especially as on route from hotel ( The Imperial Hotel) down to the harbour.
The price on entry seemed ok £11-12 each adult which including a donation and gift aid was good.
The place itself appeared well kept and got to be quite close to the penguins, some walking past you between their areas. We were lucky to see them being fed outside of advertised feeding times too. There were also baby penguins which were also lovely to see.
Others to see such as seals and fish. We were disappointed to see that the glass tanks were not very clean and notices to apologise were in view however it did distract from what we had paid to see.
Shop was very good with lots of different items, we only bought a magnet as we collect them, this was a little pricey at nearly £4!
On leaving we both thought that the entry fee was a little too much as we were in there less than an hour! There were children activities and if we had children we may have been in there longer.

“Needs a little support.”
Reviewed 21 July 2014

We visited on a Sunday afternoon in July. really quiet. Shame, because its a great place for a stroll. One to two hours max, so maybe a little expensive. New baby seal called Clara is really cute. You can get very close to the penguins but sadly can't touch.

Thank You for your review. We are pleased you enjoyed your recent visit, especially our new seal pup. The pup is still awaiting her official name and voting has begun. This can be done on our Facebook page or at the front entrance of Living Coasts. The name Clara you heard on the day of your visit has been used by the keepers for training purposes.
