“Typical Seaside Town, Lovely Harbour”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 February 2014

Its the usual collection of shops down a main drag (with a little precinct running off it) so is much the same as any seaside town in England. There is nothing that makes it stand apart. There is a wheel in Summer months giving views up and down the coast, but, again, Torquay is not unique in this.

It is, however, very clean and street cleansing is very visual with teams from Tor 2 continually working on street.

“Not that great! ”

Torquay town has definitely seen better days! The gardens next to the big wheel, and the harbour are nice to walk around, although in the summer everywhere is packed with exchange students so its a little hard to. There's some good shops aswell, though lot of them have closed down! The toilets in the middle of town are absolutely disgusting - maybe should of spent money Doing them up instead of spending it on a silly palm tree!! The town is a little run down and tacky to be honest!!

“Great Fun”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 October 2013

Arrived in Torquay, by Train and was immediately hit by how warm and sunny it all is. The train station is old, a relic from the Victorian times I guess and suddenly makes you feel you are on Holiday. The seafront is good and it's a pleasant walk to the Marina. Loads of Pubs and a fairly decent nightlife, catering for all agegroups, although it is more inclined to go towards the younger group. Shops are the usual UK Town Centre affair these days, which is not up to much in reality. Not Torquay's fault, just another victim of the endless corporate surge driven by the conglomorates to get people to the Malls and Shopping centres. Some very decent Fish & Chips to be found around the town and a not too bad Football Team.

Torquay town centre has seen better days! What a disappointment for holidaymakers.half the shops are closed, and many charity shops. The pavements are filthy
And cracked and broken paving slabs. The only nice part is down by the harbour, quite picturesque, with palm trees and gardens.
