“New and Old”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 July 2014

Like a lot of towns there's areas that need doing up but there is obvious signs of investment and improvement. Plenty of shops and attractions to fill holidays visiting. It's naturally hilly so this can be challenging but it's worth visiting for the seaside, harbour and tourist attractions on offer.

“wheelchair/ pram review”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 June 2014

I am a wheelchair user and I have a baby in a pram too so this is a differnt look on the town from my perspective.

Disabled parking is readily available in all car parks but parent and child spaces are impossible to find!

the road crossings are so quick, they were changing back when I was only 3/4 through and thats on ALL the roads, regular widthand double, this was really awkward and difficult as I annoyed a lot of drivers by being on the road still when their lights had gone green.

there is only 1 ramp down to the beack on the paignton side so very long journey ahead of you if you want to enjoy the beach.

the town is right off the harbour and generally flat and smooth, there are a good variety of shops but no baby shops or charity shops but there is a primark and debenhams.

on the harbour there are plenty ofcafes and ice cream shops, bars and pubs.

“Looking tired”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 June 2014

Torquay is still a nice place to visit , but is now looking tired around the harbour with most of the older buildings looking run down. Some money needed to improve the area

“Not so good for the disabled!”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 May 2014

Why is there only one wheelchair access off Torre Road onto the sea wall and away from traffic! This is at the Paignton end and once on the sea wall walk it is impossible to exit at the Torquay end!! Also crossings, apart from one leading nowhere, across Torre Road into the park are not pedestrianized! This spoils what would, otherwise be, a [pleasant stroll along the seafront to and from the Marina. (Why is there no box below for a family with elderly relatives ?)
