Owner description: Built in 1926 this fabulous, funicular railway has transported hundreds of thousands of people up and down the cliffs from Babbacombe to Oddicombe. Popular with holidaymakers and locals a trip to the English Riviera is not complete without a visit to this lovely railway. Down on Oddicombe Beach there is a gorgeous, hidden away beach with seasonal watersports and a great bar/bistro/café. Perfect family beach.

“Does it's job.”
Reviewed 1 June 2014 via mobile

On a recent trip to Babbacombe we decided to go and check out the cliff railway. At £2.00 return our ride to the beach lasted around 3 minutes. Don't expect much on the beach apparently storm damage forced the closure of cafes and places to get any refreshments. The cliff railway does what it's supposed to take you to the beach and back.

“Not as expected”
Reviewed 31 May 2014

There is not much at the beach to go down to at the moment as they have suffered storm damage might be better in the hot weather but needs a lot of money spent on it. Something different and worth the 2 pounds return fee.

“Great Railway”
Reviewed 31 May 2014

Both my 9 year old son & I really enjoyed this. Our first time using this railway. It was value for money and very enjoyable. We had a return trip on it and would definitely go there again.
