“Quaint thatched roof village”
Reviewed 18 July 2014

It's like stepping back in time to an ancient thatched roof village in rural England. Delightful tea shops, restaurants and shops amidst a beautiful green area dotted with trees and flowers. Lots of room to explore or just to sit on a private bench away from the crowds. Parking is fairly good with a close public parking lot.

“Picturesque but becoming very commercialised”
Reviewed 17 July 2014

A very peaceful place with some beautiful walks on a real village atmosphere.. However in recent years it has been spoilt but the ugly craft centre that has been erected behind Cockington Court, selling what can only be described in the main as seaside junk. However the blacksmith,s shop is worth as visit and there is a nice traditional toy shop. Nice tea rooms at Cockington Court.

“A long relaxing stroll”
Reviewed 17 July 2014

It is a while since I did visit Cockington Country Park, but I do remember that we spent a long time there wandering around. Quite a few shops to visit (& spend), but not a lot to see of tourist interest. The village has the only thatched bus shelter which has been there for at least 90 years, as a black and white newsreel from the 1920's was on TV last year which showed "flappers" in front of the shelter. Take the kids, take the dog & take a picnic.
