“So good we are going back”
Reviewed 29 July 2012

We had a few days here in June and ended up extending by a night.
That’s all down to the owners and their helpful staff.
Adam and Anita made us feel at home from the minute we arrived to when we left.
The room and bathroom were clean and comfortable with modern decor.
Plenty of storage space, with tea and coffee making facilities in the room.
The breakfast is great and the conversation in the bar is lively.
We had a couple of “nights in” as the good old British weather was not the best, the company including Adam and Anita made it feel like we were old friends meeting up in the local.
Lots to do locally with a 5 minute walk to the harbour and town centre and some great local restaurants.
A heated pool which we didn’t use but plenty did even with the poor weather.
Well, all in all it was so good we booked to go back in August.

decided to book a few days away last minuet and very happy that we picked this hotel. I've stayed in Torquay before and this is by far my favourite. The owners are really friendly as are the staff, they were more then happy to chat and give us advise about where to go. The hotel is about 5 minuets walk from the harbour and the shops, Anita (one of the owners) had lots of maps to drew the best route to take for us to keep. The Hotel it's self is really lovely, we had the see view room and the view of the harbour was well worth the extra. The breakfast room has views of the pool which is heated and there is a nice little bar if you want a few in the hotel. I went with my boyfriend for a nice weekend away, there are also family rooms available. Will defiantly be booking this hotel next time.

Very friendly hosts in this b&b up the hill from the Torquay harbour. A nice atmosphere in the downstairs bar with hosts stopping to chat. Host turned on the heating in the outdoor pool when we requested it. Newly converted family room was very good value. Tip to breakfasters; have the tea, not the coffee!

Thanks for your comments. Sorry if you didn't like the coffee we serve at breakfast - it's freshly brewed Douwe Egberts filter coffee, definitely not the cheapest!

Me and my boyfriend decided to book a weekend away quite spontaneously and decided after looking online that hotel cimon was a good choice and we were right!
Although we arrived at ten pm when check in closed at eight the owner waited up for us and still gave us a mini tour. We were then shown to our room and found we had been upgraded to one of the best rooms when we had only paid for a compact room. As this was out first stay away as a couple this was fantastic!
The room was clean and comfortable, with plenty of storage space and facilities. We were very happy with the bed which was so soft and big.
The breakfasts were great with plenty of choice, eaten in the specially labelled breakfast room which is sunny and open, overlooking the pool. We only found time to use the pool once but it was a lovely temperature and plenty of space to splash about in :)
Only thing I can possibly fault is perhaps that the hotel is a bit of a walk from the main Torquay touristy area and is on top of a hill. Also, because the beds are two singles with a double on top we found if there was an big movements on our part we had to get out and push them together again.
We both agreed that we would definitely stay here again! Thanks very much for a lovely weekend.

We stayed at the Hotel Cimon as a family of four (child ages 14 and 8) for a weekend in July. From the moment of arrival we received top class hospitality from the hosts Adam and Anita. This hotel really is a gem. The hotel is spotlessly clean throughout. The little extras like the pure white soft towels laid out on the bed with a little chocolate is a lovely touch. We arrived on a cloudy/rainy day and while a lot of hotels would not let you in the outdoor pool in this type of weather, Adam made sure all of the facilities were open (much to the delight of my children). The pool was very very warm so it did not matter about the weather. The breakfasts really were fab, with a whole range of yogurts, pastries and lovely cooked breakfasts and although we do not have a gluten allergy I couldn't help notice the range of food on offer if we did. To top it off the hotel is in a perfect location being five minute to the town centre. We have stayed in lots of hotels over the years, and there are not many that tick all the boxes but this one surely did.

We would definitely recommend this hotel to all.

I would recomend this hotel to anyone, and will wi

From the moment the proprietor opened the door to us we felt we were being offered a sincerely warm welcome, and sensed that nothing was too much trouble. A list of recommended restaurants was reeled off, but suffixed with "or if you just want to pick up a takaway from somewhere we'll set a table for you in our dining area if you like." You'll NEVER hear that said in a Holiday Inn!

The Cimon is nicely located. It's a short walk down a steep slope to the sea front, or a gentler further route through the High St. Accomodation was good, the room clean, and we left thinking "we'll have to come back some time."

Whilst chatting to the owner he hinted that we may have been able to get a better deal if we'd phoned him direct rather than use an agent. He suggested that in some instances he may be offer a pair of adjoining double rooms instead of a family room for the same price. The constraints of online booking forms do not allow for that type of flexibility, so it may well be worth your while phoning direct if you can't find a deal you're happy with online.

All told we were very pleased. Above all it's the obvious effort Adam and Anita are putting into trying to ensure that all their guests leave without complaint that made all the difference. I'd unreservedly recommend the Cimon to all.

Hi, Just back from the Hotel Cimon on Abbey Road Torquay.
This Hotel is located in a perfect place for the town centre,
Your Host’s are Adam and Anita who will do everything in there power to make your Holiday enjoyable, Torquay is a very hilly town but just across the road a short distance down a side street there is a multi story car park with a lift, You are on the fifth flour when you walk in and the lift takes you down to the shopping centre you can either come back that way or catch a No 12 Bus from the amusement arcade near the Harbour the bus stop you want is the one after the Traffic lights in Abbey road, The Hotel is very clean with good friendly staff, There is a large choice to suit everyone at Breakfast Time, We found two good restaurants in the Town, Legends and Marina .
The Hotel has a really nice swimming pool And Patio in front of the Restaurant. And a very friendly Bar at Night.
I would recommend this Hotel to Anyone .

Room Tip: Sea view over looking the pool
