“Great place to stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 June 2013

Very accommodating and lovely place to stay.
Brilliant breakfasts.
Really close to centre.
Owner is a great promoter of local businesses and very knowledgeable of good places to visit and places to eat.
Would highly recommend.

My mother, sister and I recently stayed at The Cimon for two nights and I would highly recommend this Hotel. The rooms were clean and freshly decorated and the beds very comfy. It is close to the centre of Torquay with a short walk down to the Harbour and restaurants. The breakfast was excellent and freshly cooked, the choice could not be faulted. Adam his wife and staff couldn't have been more helpful and made you so welcome. We definitely would return here if we visited Torquay again.

Got back today from a relaxing break in Torquay thanks to 'The Cimon'. Firstly, I'll get the only slight negative out of the way. I booked a sea view double room, which is exactly what I got. The views were absolutely amazing from our bay window, the room was decorated very well and spotlessly clean but the room wasn't as large as I would like, a personal preference I know, and the ensuite is quite tight. I did see other rooms when they were being cleaned, and they were much larger, but didn't have the sea view so really, that is the choice you make. Adam greeted us and even though we were early for check-in, welcomed us and sorted our room straight out. His knowledge of the area is excellent and he showed us where we were, different walks, restaurants etc. The hotel has its own bar which is traditional and well equipped, free pool table, TV, games and a good choice of drinks and bar snacks, all at a very reasonable price. The outdoor pool/terrace area is fantastic and we enjoyed an afternoon on the sunbeds, soaking up the sun and felt really at home. My favourite part of the whole experience was the breakfast. It's got to be the best I've had in any hotel I've ever stayed in here, or abroad. Everything from choice, to how the full English was cooked was perfection and Adam was always on hand to have a chat and would often suggest places to visit to people and ways to get there depending on the day or weather etc. 100% will return to this wonderful hotel for all the reasons above and many more, the location is superb (the satnav sent us the long way round but it just slightly up the hill from the Premier Inn/Appleby's and left at the traffic lights), the food/amenities wonderful and the owners and staff delightful. Special mention of thanks to Adams lovely wife who cooked the sensational English and his two young ladies that worked there, who made the effort to chat and always smile when you were around. Thank you so much for a special weekend and we will be booking direct next time :)

Thanks Emma, I'm really pleased you enjoyed your stay. Anita cooks everything to order for breakfast (within reason), no soggy bacon and rubbery eggs here and definitely nothing out of a tin except the beans! It's nice to know people appreciate all the effort she puts in.

I hope to see you again, book with us directly next time and we'll make sure you get a room with a bigger bathroom!

Being a mum to three children aged 10, 3 and 2 it was important we found a family friendly hotel for our weekend in Torquay; and we did. The Cimon is fantastic for families from the extremely well equipped toy room which the kids didn;t want to leave to providing monitors so we could enjoy a drink in the bar whilst the children slept. We didn't have to use the car for the whole weekend which was fab as the hotel is within walking distance of everywhere we wanted to visit. The large family room was well spacious and the beds extremely comfortable and with the children having their own room, we had some privacy too. Oh and we mustn't forget to mention breakfast, the full English was delicious as well as having a huge choice of cerelas, yoghurst and fruit too. We will certainly be returning to the Cimon for our next weekend in Torquay :)

Room Tip: If you are travelling with more than one child, the large family room is excellent and being on the...

This was our first visit to Torquay and we stayed at The Cimon ~ The owners greeted us on arrival, gave us a tour of the facilities and shared information on the local area which was most helpful.
Our room was clean and well presented, the bed was very comfortable & the bed linen and towels were fab! :-D
The Full English breakfast had a definite 'Wow!' factor. It was beautifully cooked.
Bar area was good and there was a free pool table.
It was in a central location with the town centre being no more than a 5 minute walk away.
We were really impressed with The Cimon and would happily stay there again.

My Fiance and I have just returned from an amazing stay at the Cimon. Everything about the Cimon is great, Adam and his wife are extremely friendly and make you feel very welcome. Nothing seems too much trouble. Our room was great, very clean and had everything we wanted for the weekend. The breakfast was excellent with a good variety of quality food. Location is perfect a few minutes walk and you are either at the shops on the highstreet, or at the seafront. The real surprise was how great the pool area was, the weather turned out much better than we expected and sitting around the pool we felt no wind, its a real sun trap which suited us perfectly. All in all will certainly stay again next time we visit Torquay.

My wife and I had never stayed in Torquay before and decided to visit to celebrate my wife's 70th Birthday. We chose the Cimon after reading many favourable reviews on two websites. On arrival we were daunted by the approach as we walked up a very steep hill. We need not have worried however, as the proprietors supplied us with several other more gentle routes for future ocassions, which we managed easily. Taxis if required were inexpensive and reliable. Our room was lovely, with a super view, and the room, pool, dining room and hotel generally was spotless. The proprietors were welcoming, attentive, helpful, and full of useful advice and suggestions for local attractions. The food was wonderful, breakfasts were freshly cooked, with a large choice of additional items and were of a much higher standard than we have found in some larger, more expensive hotels. We enjoyed our week immensely, would love to visit again and would have no hesitation in recommending this our hotel to our friends. As an added bonus we had lovely weather too!
