This is the second time my son and I have stayed at the Cimon and would highly recommend anyone to stay here. The Cimon is ideally located in the centre of Torquay within walking distance of the town centre, harbour, beach and local amenities with plenty to see and do within the local area. The amenities at the Cimon are second to none with a excellent heated swimming pool, there is also a bar and free pool table which will keep the kids happy. The rooms are cleaned everyday and are nicely decorated and comfortable. The breakfast is excellent with a wide selection of fresh fruit, cereals and full English cooked breakfast. All the staff were friendly and efficient and catered for all our needs.Altogether our stay at the Cimon was excellent!

We stayed in a family room which was very nice. The owners were extremely helpful with everything, including information about how to get to places nearby. The swimming pool is really nice too.
The location was great, near the centre of town but not near enough to have noise problems. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Last minute decision for a trip to the English Riviera, very glad we did it. Found The Cimon on tripadvisor; the price seemed reasonable and the reviews looked great, so called and made the booking - even over the phone the owner, Adam, sounded like a great host.

Although check-in wasn't guaranteed until 1pm, Adam said we could get there whenever suited us and we could just park the car (plenty of spaces)/leave the bags and get on with our day - I think this even included using the pool if we had wanted to.

We were very enthusiastically greeted by Adam who took some time to give a few tips about the area such as good restaurants including a couple where Cimon guests got a 10% discount. We were showed to our room, which was absolutely perfect for our one night stay, although you may consider upgrading to superior room for a longer stay as it was fairly small. The room was decorated tastefully and the bed was really comfy.

Although we didn't use the pool, it looked absolutely gorgeous and was surrounded by a lovely patio area next to the bar - the real holiday experience. We decided to have a couple of drinks in the bar before heading out in the evening - it was very well stocked with a wide array of drinks available, including yummy cocktails and the ingredients to ask for your own if you like. The atmosphere was great as a number of guests had gathered to take advantage of the reasonable prices and pool table.

The really good full English breakfast was very welcome the next morning, along with a good selection of yoghurts, baked goods and fruit.

The hotel was easy to find and, as stated on their website, it really is very close to everything - the town, the harbour, the beach...

All in all, The Cimon have got it right - great hosts, great place to stay, good quality breakfast. We would definitely recommend it and will undoubtedly stay next time we're heading to Torquay.

Room Tip: Book a larger room if staying for more than a couple of nights

Thanks for the nice review! We're only a 5 minute walk from the beach - pretty close but far enough away not to get any noise :)

My Husband and I stayed at the Cimon from the 28th July to 2nd August 2013. We had a very friendly welcome from Anita,we had booked a double which was small,as my Husband is tall, we were a bit disappointed, but would have managed. Anita said there was a cancelation and offered us a Superior room at a very good price. We accepted and it was very large,it also had four poster bed.
On meeting Adam at breakfast he was very chatty and helpful, the breakfast menu had a very good choice, and plenty of it. Staff were very helpful too.
It is a very popular hotel as all the rooms were fully occupied, we would highly recommend this Hotel for it's hospitality, friendly atmosphere, great food and cleanliness, We hope to come back one day with our Grandson,
Thankyou Adam & Anita

Room Tip: The superior room was really nice.

Thanks for the great review. The room you booked originally is described as a small double, which is ideal for a short break. The superior rooms are much nicer!
See you again soon I hope, with the grandson!

We had a 4 night stay at The Cimon, and we couldn't of asked for anything better. its situated in a perfect spot centrally, and has plenty of parking for the guests, which is handy in Torquay as parking elsewhere can be expensive.

Adam the owner was super friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere was really nice and relaxed. The pool was great and had everything you would need, deck chairs, tables, and towels are provided should you need them, which is very handy.

The Breakfast was also very good, you had plenty of choice from the continental style buffet, and on top of that had a great choice of cooked food too, everything from a full English to an Omellete.

The bar downstairs is a really nice place to be in the evening, its cosy, and feels very welcoming, and the drinks are cheap too :) it also has a free pool table and other bits of entertainment. and is a great place to chat and meet some of the other guests.

Our room was spot on and we couldnt of asked for more for the value, the bed was comfy and we were also had the seaview, everything was clean, and the rooms were made very promptly, every day by the time we got back from breakfast they were done.

Thank you to Adam and Anita for being so helpful and friendly. When we go back to Torquay there is no other place we would stay, if its fully booked when we want to go, then we will just book the following week!
