Had a 5 night break and stayed at The Hotel Barton. Andrew and Helen were friendly and helpful. The hotel was clean and tidy and the breakfast set you up for the day. The location of the hotel was spot on, a short walk to the harbour area. Will use the hotel again no problem when visiting Torquay again.

Stayed at the Barton Hotel on a mid week Three nights for the Price of two deal. Was not expecting much but we were pleasantly surprised by the lovely and modern décor of the hotel. We arrived early and were welcomed to our room without hesitation.Booked the King size Bed Room 3 WOW! Room for kids but chose to leave them at home. Andrew & Helen were most obliging hosts with a touch of elegance and pride in their establishment, the attention to detail spoke volumes. A car park with secure parking slightly up the hill minutes away with a pass for any time access, Free was a bonus. The breakfast to die for was served in a dining room with a glorious view. The location of the Hotel is situated within a 5 minute walk to the harbour/town with fantastic choice of restaurants on route. Will definitely be staying their again.

Room Tip: Room 3 King Size Bed.

We spent a great couple of days here. Andrew and Helen were friendly and helpful, and didn't mind that we were going to be late due to London traffic. Even the dog received a warm welcome. The parking is free and close by. The rooms are nicely decorated, the beds comfortable and the shower hot. Breakfast was hearty and even the veggie of the group declared himself satisfied.

We have just returned from a two night stay at Hotel Barton, Torquay. I wouldn't hesitate on recommending this hotel. Andrew & Helen were extremely attentive and helpful throughout our stay. The hotel rooms were decorated beautifully and very clean. The advantage of the free parking just up the hill from the hotel is great and I will definitely be staying there again!

We have literally just got back from a two night stay at Hotel Barton and I felt like I had to leave a review straight away...

On Friday 24th May we arrived after 10pm due to some traffic issues in Coventry. Having advised of an 8pm arrival, we called the hotel twice to advise of our progress and the late arrival was no problem at all. Helen and Andy we're helpful and gave us directions over the phone to make sure we didn't delay ourselves any further and came out to make sure we got to the right parking spot!

We were shown straight to our room and left to relax - Andy wasn't fussed about formalities/check in which helped us chill out after an eventful drive.

Our room was two flights up from the dining room and we weren't disappointed. Spotless and fully equipped with towels/tea/coffee facilities/TV-DVD combi and a good sized shower room. The shower was also hot and powerful which can sometimes be a problem in larger accommodation.

Breakfast was at 8:15-9am which is great to have just enough of a lie in that you don't waste the day. There is a large selection of fruit/toast/cereals and cooked options - something to suit everyone. The hot food is freshly cooked to order and is by far the best breakfast I've had in a B&B/hotel so far.

The hotel is situated conveniently for the main harbour shopping area and despite being on a main road to the harbour, the room was very quiet. Around a 5 minute walk takes you down to the harbour but there are a good selection of restaurants/bars/pubs on the same street so you don't have to stray too far.

We didn't use this option but if you need towels for the beach, you can just ask for them.

Andy and Helen are very welcoming and are only to happy to help. Advice on things to do/where to park or just general conversation, they have no airs or graces and are very easy to get on with.

We would absolutely stay again and when we next go to Torquay, the Hotel Barton will be top of our list.

£120 for 2 nights with no minimum stay over the Bank Holiday was a steal!

Thanks again to both of you for your hospitality (and the scrambled eggs!)

Claire and David

Warm welcome, spotlessly clean, friendly, well place, Great breakfasts are just five of the many good things I could say about our stay at Barton House. Only 300 yards from the harbour make Barton house a great place to stay if you don't want to move your car when you visit Torquay. With the weather being poor on our stay the prime position of the hotel was of benefit,
Thank you for a wonderful stay!
