Me and my partner just returned from our short break in Torquay and we loved our choice of hotel. Room was very clean and we had superior king bed which was huge and ever so comfortable. Locacion is great as you have everything at the doorstep and some lovely restaurants down the road, best to us was Amici-italian one and there is bowling right in front of hotel if you get bored. The owners are really friendly and helpful and the breakfast was just amazing! Will definitely return..

My wife and i stayed at the hotel Barton for 4 nights begining of September 2010.
The hotel was not far from the harbour and shops, it was very clean and the room we had was very comfortable, the couple who run the hotel are very friendly and helpful and the breakfasts were absolutely fantastic, would definitely recomend to anyone and would stay there again, in fact the weather was so nice we stayed an extra night, haven't been to Torquay for years but we had a really nice time.

We took a late week 2 day break and booked through a last minute web deal - It was worth the money we paid and we found the room immaculate with plenty of tea/coffee refreshments on offer in our room, it was tastefully decorated in a modern freshing design and our host Andrew (we never got to meet Helen) was friendly. helpful and the perfect host.

Our breakfast was cooked to order and was LUSH!!! - We had the full English on both days and it was a non greasy, delicious start to the day :-)

The hotel was situated close to the town with a short walk up a slight hill......We would definately reccommend it and wouldy stay again when back in "town"

Stayed for 3 nights. On arrival decided to drive to the rear of the hotel to look for a car park space.Quite a narrow and bumpy road at the back and on first look could not see the hotel and so had to drive around the front again to get the names of hotels next door.On second attempt found one of the 3 spaces empty and pulled in to unload our bags..Could not find a back entrance into the hotel so had to walk around the front to get in . Check in wes quick and friendly by Andy the owner. He took me upstairs to the back door of the hotel to my car and helped me unload. As my car was to big for the space he directed me to a car park a minute or two around the corner which was fine for the rect of the stay. When I returned Andy had delivered bags to room.Room was clean, average size with nice ensuite shower room.Plenty of tea / coffee in room and decent TV.Comfortable bed.
Breakfast could not be bettered.Great choice and very good quality, full english, cereal etc.
Hotel has Wi Fi but depends on where you are as in our room we could not get it but in the breakfast room it was fine.Location very good, a few minutes walk from harbour and town centre. There are about a dozen steps , very steep, from the pavement to the front entrance and this could be a problem for some people but we had my 85 year old quite fit Mother with us and she managed with a little help reasonably well although I think she was pleased at the end of the stay not to have to do it anymore. All in all a great value for money hotel and will definitely stay again if we go to Torquay.
