Looking for a bed and breakfast in Torquay then look no further and book The Somerville. Just back from a three night stay and The Somerville is excellent, spotless, room quiet and breakfast was fabulous. Lots of lovely little touches like fresh cakes, milk and sweets in the room. Great location short walk down to the harbour. Orange Tree and No7 restaurants recommended by Adam were also fab. We have stayed at a lot of hotels all round the world and this is real value for money, you will not be disappointed staying here. Thank you Adam and Grant for a lovely weekend.

We love Torquay!!! It's so lovely and Somerville definitely made our stay. The b&b/hotel is run amazingly and the you couldn't wish for more. The bedrooms are gorgeous and we got given the choice of which one we wanted! How many places do that?!? And breakfast is one of the best breakfasts I've ever had! Everything you could wish for.... We recommend you go to the no7 fish restaurant... The owner told us about it and he wasn't wrong!
Thank you so for much an amazing short break! Xxxx

Torquay by the sea: so a little B&B with a sea view? Perhaps not! This hotel is about eight minute's walk downhill to the sea, and a little more on the return trip! It is attractive from the outside, with its own garden, nice views, and parking for guests, but there is no indication of the surprising decor within. It is like entering a grand house of yesteryear with chandeliers and gilt frames and objets d'art. Proprietors Adam and Grant make us very welcome, and show us to our apartment: a large room with small en suite, and private courtyard. The room itself and the en suite have been completely modernised with ample lighting, TV, clock radio, power points etc. The fittings are luxuriant and from another era, and there are surprises: for example the tea and coffee supplies lie within a large book of Shakespeare! The large bed is very comfortable, and we sleep well. The en suite has eight down lights, an electric clothes drier, and an electric shower which works perfectly. There are super-large towels, towelling dressing gowns, as well as iron, ironing board and hair dryer. In the hall is a plate of fresh cake and fruit for guests' pleasure! And a small jar of jelly beans or liquorice all sorts in the room. The fittings of the reception and breakfast rooms are as eclectic as the rest of the house, and the breakfast is out of this world! An amazing selection of (ten) fruits, juices, cereals, pastries, yoghurts ... and then a cooked serve to order. All with careful and personal service from Ann and Roman. I could get used to this life style! In summary, we were spoilt rotten, and would highly recommend this accommodation - for a night, or for a week.

This place is in a league of its own. Better than most hotels I've stayed at in the U.K. They have thought of everything to make your stay wonderful. The rooms are beautifully decorated with the most comfortable bed ever! Lovely breakfast with lots of choice and a gorgeous fresh fruit salad. They even had a small fridge in reception with fresh jugs of milk to make coffee and tea in your room and what looked like homemade biscuits. The owners have gone that extra mile to make your stay perfect.

What a fantastic experience! Our best ever stay in English B&B and we are looking for a reason to go back. Adam and Grant made as feel welcomed even before our holiday had started.
They sent beforehand a list of local restaurants and due to their recommendations we had two excellent meals in Torquay. On arrival we felt very special as we were greeted by two gorgeous Dachshunds and Adam with a smile. When told we had been upgraded we felt our relaxing holiday had started. The room was like a fairy tale with our own court yard garden; absolutely fabulous. We are writing this review four weeks after our visit, which on its own shows what a lasting memory The Somerville left on us. My partner who never eats breakfast was up early and eager to go to the most welcoming bright and sunny breakfast room. Thank you team and we will be back. Markku and Ray

The owner of this bed and breakfast is absolutely lovely. The bed was so most comfortable bed I ever slept in. The decor and attention to detail is second to none :) The breakfast is to die for! I would recommend this b&b to everyone and all couples. We were surprised by a delicious gourmet chocolate egg on Easter :) absolutely would come back many times. I felt like a princess :)
