Just returned from a 4-night stay over the New Year with my husband. Had a very nice and light room with a sea view (room 18) - very big bed, plenty of drawer and hanging space, table and chairs by the window. Room spotlessly clean and good supply of tea/coffee/milk. Electric points are not in the best places but the owners have thought of this by supplying extension leads. There's also a hair dryer, iron and ironing board in the room. Minor niggle is that there was only one bedside table (tip: use the dressing table stool!) and of course only one bedside lamp. The shower room was also spotless - again, another minor niggle is that there was no shelf to lay out toiletries. The location is quite good, walking distance of the harbour albeit up a hill, but that applies to most hotels in Torquay anyway and this one is right next door to Torquay Musuem, which is worth a look round. The owners, as just about every reviewer has said, are really friendly; the hotel is totally family-run from morn to night with Steve the owner obviously enjoying his stints as resident DJ in the bar:). The bar itself is integral to the hotel but open to the public and is a very pleasant area to spend a couple of hours. An unexpected bonus was that they serve bar meals until 7pm, great if it's raining and you don't fancy the trek down the hill. Breakfast is also served in the bar area and this seemed quite plentiful although I didn't have a cooked beakfast myself. Three types of cereal available, two juices and as much tea/coffee and toast as you like. Overall, the hotel is excellent value for money and although I've mentioned a couple of niggles, they really are minor and I'm sure Steve when he reads this will be hot on the case because both he and Jackiie are really determined to make this investment work for them. Reading the earlier reviews from when they first opened up it's clear to see that they've already come a long long way and with their enthusiasm and hard work this hotel is going to go from strength to strength. Would we go back? Yes, without question.

We stayed for one night as part of a trip to Torquay. The hotel is off the main road so no traffic noise. We were met by the owner who could not have been more helpful. Service here is excellent. The rooms are good for the price and you are in the heart of Torquay so a quick walk to the ammenities. A good breakfast finished the stay. I am going back in April. I Would recommend this for couples or families.

On arriving late we were meet by Jackie & Steve who then showed us to our room, Which was spotless & very spacious with a lovely en suite, free veiw TV and a large comfortable kingsize bed also with a good veiw over looking the bay.Down stairs the hotel as it's own bar area which is large and freindly, it doubles up as breakfast room which as a good choice of breakfast,You won't go hungry and freshly cooked and served by the efficient and freindly staff. The location was great as it close to the harbour, resturants and shops also adequate car parking.Overall we a great time here due to all the hard work and effort put in by Jackie & Steve and family. We are definitely coming back and would highly recommed The Yardley Hotel.

Had a lovely 3 day stay. Room was a good size, plenty of drawer and wardrobe space, bed enormous, en suite had lovely shower, all of which is very clean. Had complementary bottled water with tea/coffee facilities, very nice touch. Steve, Jackie and all the staff were all very friendly and helpful- nothing was too much trouble for them. Reception area had plenty of information on places to go. Breakfast choice very good, plenty to choose from, always served with a friendly smile. The bar is a very friendly place, bar staff are efficient, conscientious and polite. We had a fabulous stay and will be going back soon!!

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a seaview

Just returned from Yardley Manor for the first stay with them - it will certainly not be the last.
Our room was nicely set out with a view overlooking the marina. Big comfortable bed and plenty of drawer and wardrobe space and was spotlessly clean. The breakfast was delicious and more than adequate - everything you could wish for - plenty of choice.
The hotel is handy for just walking down into the town. The hospitality of Steve, Jackie and family was second to none - nothing was too much trouble - a well run family concern.
Would recommend it to anyone.
