Perfect location this hotel was by far the best we have stayed at in Torquay. Moments walk from the beach, the town centre, our room had a lovely sea view of the bay and the surroundings. The breakfast was a hearty one with everything you could possibly want! This set us up for the days during our stay in February with the cool winter breezes! The family were truly excellent hosts and like an extended family making you feel at home! During our stay on the last night there was a stag party staying and we didn't even hear a peep out of them! The bar regulars and locals are friendly and make you feel at ease. The Yardley has its very own pub with a pool table gaming machines widescreens showing the rugby and football. Resident DJ Steve has a great archive of music and there is even a full setup of bass guitar and drum kit if you fancy a jamming session. As it was my birthday weekend celebration, our hosts surprised us and invited us as guests to their exclusive member only casino for a lovely evening. Definitely recommend this place, I can't wait to return in the summer to enjoy a Yardley garden BBQ and pool party! Take my word for it and don't hesitate to book your break now with the Yardley Manor Hotel, you won't be disappointed!

This is by far the most friendly place I have stayed. I arrived a little earlier than the rest of the stag group and a little early to check in so Steve the hotel manager took me down to the bar and bought me a drink he was very accomadating and we watched the rugby while I waited. The whole family were friendly throughout. Breakfast was very nice but I do have to apologise to them for not eating it as I was feeling a little delicate ;) thank you all for a great stay.

I came on the 30th dec 2012 and stayed until the 1st jan 2013. It was the perfect way to see in the new year, the room was so clean and the owners were very friendly and very helpful,I stayed at the hotel on New Year's Eve as the owner told me they were having a party and I'm so glad I did as they did a buffet and it was very nice and the music was really good. I woke in the morning to go down for breakfast and that was also very nice, very well presented. I would fully recommend this hotel. Thank you for a lovely stay.

We booked this hotel for one night because it was cheap. I suppose it was reasonable value for money, but unfortunately we won't be staying again.

We arrived in the rather gaudy lobby, rang the service bell and were met by the owner, a friendly chap who checked us in. He took a few minutes to change the room key; he explained the room number had been written on it the previous night by a stag party who were staying in the room before us.

We went up to our room, which was a pretty dated bedroom with limited decor. Bed, bathroom, TV and no frills. Our room overlooked the pub smoking area downstairs; it was quite noisy all evening as people had more to drink.

Breakfast in the downstairs bar was reasonable, served by the owner's family, who were very friendly.

All in all, I wanted to like it as I think the owners were very pleasant and accommodating and the overall value for money was ok, as the room was pretty cheap. But the place is simply functional; perhaps more suitable for a stag weekend as opposed to being suitable for a romantic break or a longer stay.

Thank you for your review and your comments of being friendly, pleasant and accommodating, however I must comment on your negative points. the hotel has budget, standard, premium and sea view premium Rooms, We are very happy that we can give great value for money in each one of those category’s, but to be scored with a poor rating from yourself especially when you indicated value for money is not fair on the hotel and its staff, you paid for a budget room and you were booked into a budget room!
while at the time of booking you would have seen prices ranging from the room you booked to rooms more expensive going up around £6 per increment to our premium rooms, so if you wanted to pamper yourselves for a suitable romantic break or a longer stay you certainly would have been able to acquire it for paying that bit extra, so it really is unfair to criticise the room, you booked budget no frills and that’s what you got. Thank you for mentioning breakfast as reasonable and we are sorry that you will not consider staying again but with that said do consider trying out our premium rooms where you will (on request at a small extra cost) be pampered with wine, chocolates and rose petals.

This is our fourth time of staying here, run by a very hard working family. The rooms are lovely and spacious, spotlessly clean and well maintained. We travel often and things like bedding and towels i take a lot of notice of, they smell beautiful. it was my husband' s 60 th birthday and they did some lovely thoughtful things for him, which we really appreciated. The beds are huge and so comfy, the breakfast cooked to order with top bacon and sausages,we have stayed at 5 star hotels and the breakfast doesn't touch yardley manor! The value is unrivalled as is the location. In this current financial climate its difficult to survive, and torquay has so many hotels, so we hope that yardley continue to succeed as they care about their guests.

As we arrived we got a really nice welcome from the owner of the hotel, although we had not made a reservation in advance. We got a nice room almost at once, even though it was before check in time. The atmosphere in the hotel is very warm and familiar, and we really liked the tearoom/bar with it´s old stonewalls.
A plus for the hotels parking space.
If I should say anything negative about this stay, it would be that the hotel is situated a little bit too far from the center if you would like to walk. Although as it is situated in a residential area, it was quiet and no traffic noise.
