I totally disagree with many of the bad reviews on here. We stayed for 4 days (3 nights) with 2 10 year olds and a disabled lady. On arrival the staff were waiting to greet us, very polite and friendly welcome. Told to leave our bags by reception and they would be taken to our rooms for us. When checked in my parents room was in the basement area of the hotel and although it did smell of damp it was quite pleasent. However, because my Mum is disabled we asked for a room change to the ground floor as she struggled with the stairs. We were given an alternative room immediately and staff even came to the room to move all luggage for us - great service! Food was VERY good, waiting staff pleasent and very helpful with any queries you have. Although very small the children LOVED the pool. Outside area is really nice and relaxing. Entertainment on the 1st 2 nights was so funny - but only because it was so bad! No fault of the owners, just bad singers with even worse jokes. Entertainment on 3rd night was FANTASTIC!!!!! Someone has said the drinks are expensive in the bar, but they are the same as the local pubs: £3.50 a pint, Wine £3.50 large glass, glass of coke £1.20. Overall the staff go out of their way to ensure you have an enjoyable stay.

stayed 6 nights half board here at a bargain last minute price and found as follows:
room- basic but clean and comfy with a virtually brand new spotless en suite bathroom. Food- 5 star from the service from our extremely polite and efficient waiter to the food qaulity and choice, especially impressed by children choice if usual kiddie food or smaller portions from the main menu which our children chose. Pool- small indoor, clean and warm and shallow, perfect for ouryoung children whilst we watched from the side. Entertainment- typical hotel stuff, not really our cup of tea but when we did watch it found it fairly entertaining. Overall a great , basis hotel with very friendly staff and meeting severall repeat customers whilst there said it all really.

When I pulled onto the forecourt, my heart sank! The decor is tired and in dire need of a complete renovation. Their website is so sleek but the hotel itself bears no resemblance! n
The food was basic ( we had B&B), the tea only luke warm and service slow. The evening entertainment was amateur at best and drinks were expensive. Our 2 rooms although fairly clean needed updating. Thank god they had freeview and we were able to get a wifi connection. Website is also misleading about location. It is a 15 min walk to the seafront and a FURTHER 10/15 min walk to harbour and shops

The hotel was situated on the flat about 20 minutes walk from the town centre, there was a bus stop nearby. The hotel was well presented and the staff always helpful. Evening entertainment was good, the food was well cooked, healthy and well presented, table service on all meals. The pool was small but adequate and the garden was on the sunny side. We will certainly go again.

The weekend break was booked before reading other reviews on this hotel, which varied widely, so I was not sure what to expect. However, the hotel represented very good value for money over the weekend, the staff were helpful and the room was clean and in good order. The weather was hot and sunny, which was great during the day, and made the walk to the front and into Torquay a pleasure. It might be a bit different if it is wet and cold.
There was a wedding reception on the first evening, and as the weather was so hot a lot of the guests gathered in the smoking area at the front of the hotel where our room was, so it was a bit noisy at times, but this did not continue too late into the night. If it was wet, I'm sure it would have been quietier, but the noise was a small price to pay for a glorious weekend of weather. The following nights were relatively quiet.
We did not bother with the inhouse entertainment, as it is not really our thing, but the brief spell watching seemed OK for those who wanted to be entertained. The TV in the room had all the freeview channels, there is a returnable deposit payable on the remote control.
All in all, I was well satisified with the hotel for the price paid for the weekend deal.

hotel seemed lovely on arrival. Entertainment was brilliant, and the food was lovely. On 2nd night our party was moved to the down stairs bar with no notice at all, with no lift and with most of our party disabled this proved difficult. The gaps between stairs were very wide, i broke my shoe on one, and another woman done the same. Manager told me I could not have done it on stairs as they have cctv of me using lift - there is no lift to lower floor. When explaining to manager we wanted to complain he gave us a piece of blank paper and a pen. laughing because I had broken my shoe. Then was threatened to be thrown out of hotel along with our 68 year old organiser. Toilet doors were faulty down stairs, with 1 of our party being locked in for 10 mins, others, including my disabled mother also being locked in. There was no disabled toilets down stairs, with steps to enter, considering our party consisted of mostly disabled people, this was not very disabled friendly. When complaining, was told we were too abrupt and had been drinking, even though it was early in the evening. Senior staff were way too arrogant and abrupt with us, and did not want to hear our complaints. Would not go back as senior staff have no respect for guests and the hotel is not disabled friendly.
