Just got back from a two night stay at the Trelawney Hotel. It has a good location the sea front is a short walk away and it's easy to find. There's some parking at the back of the hotel. It was exactly what you want from a bed and breakfast style hotel. Our twin room was very pretty, a lot of thought has gone into the decor. There were nice tea and coffee making facilities, complimentary toiletries, comfy beds with duvets and a small flatscreen tv. The room was clean and the bathroom had a good shower. It was nice and warm when the heating was on. Jim and Rose were very friendly and accomodating, they didn't mind us picking and choosing what we had for breakfast from the menu and were more than happy to toast the gluten free bread I had bought with me. They even kept it in the kitchen ready for the next morning. Jim suggested we catch the ferry to Brixham which we did and we had a lovely day. We found that everything was in walking distance for us (fit twenty somethings). Rose even put out some hot cross buns and homemade cupcakes because it was Easter Sunday! I will be going back and recommending to my wedding guests next year.

Just returned from 2 nights in the family room; 2 adults 2 kids. Jim and Rosie are friendly and helpful, breakfast cooked to specifications, plentiful and delicious. The family room is right at the top of the tall Victorian house, may be a climb for some but on the plus side it tires the children out. Very clean throughout. Ring ahead to ask about parking as some is available at the back of the house.

We stayed for 3 nights and enjoyed a great late Autumn break. Jim met us on arrival and helped us unpack the car and then show us where to park at the rear of premises (free and private). We stayed in room 15 on the top floor. It is a well furnished, spacious room with a partial sea view. Jim and Rose were perfect hosts making us feel at home. Much better than most of the souless and more expensive hotels we've stayed in. The weather was very good for the time of year and helped make the short holiday into a memorable few days.

Great proprietors - Rosie & Jim. Lovely rooms, comfy beds, good shower, great breakfast. My husband & I treated my elderly in-laws to a weekend away and I couldn't have chosen a better B&B. When I initially made the reservation online, I requested a room downstairs or near a lift for my in-laws. I was called back almost immediately by Jim who confirmed they did not have a lift or ground floor rooms but our rooms are next door to each other and close to the stairs. My in-laws have the same set up at home, so they were comfortable using the stairs. I thought it great that we had joining rooms. At breakfast we were surprised that there were more guests in the B&B, it was so quiet. We shall certainly stay again if they have availability when we return to Torquay.. Highly recommended. Thank you Rosie & Jim for running a B&B the way it should be!

Room Tip: If you have special requests, post your request on your booking enquiry/reservation. They will call...

Our 5 day break with my elderly parents was made extra special by the warm welcome we received from proprietors, Rosie and Jim. The service was excellent as were the breakfasts the rooms the cleanliness and the friendly hospitality. Nothing was too much trouble and we felt completely at home. It was lovely having the bar in the lounge area. We shall certainly be back! Ann and Mick, [----]

Room Tip: the back of the hotel is much quieter ., as the front is on a main road.

Nice hotel, clean and well-decorated rooms, good breakfast, very friendly and co-operative hosts. The beach ( not a nice one) is a short walk from this hotel. Overall a pleasant stay and will highly recommend this hotel. Only complain is that there were no toilet brushes provided.

Room Tip: Room 15 is THE best room... It is newly re-decorated.
