We booked to stay here for five nights the welcome we had when we arrivied was brilliant they moved our room straight away when they saw my wife had problems on the stairs. Throughout our stay both Angela and Dave suggested places to visit. The evening meal was fantastic and very reasonably priced with hearty portions the full English breakfasts were some of the best ive ever had and the attentive service was better than I've experienced in more expensive hotels. if we could have stayed longer we would have and will definitely visit again.

Room Tip: Our room was fine, ground floor with stairs immediately opposite narrow gap between bed and door but...

Booked this guest house for a 4 day break with my husband and to celebrate our anniversary. Had looked at other guest houses in the area but we were so pleased that we chose this one. The rooms were lovely and clean, with tasteful decor. There are tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms together with a selection of biscuits. Also there were complementary sweets on arrival. There is also a bottle of mineral water provided everyday. The breakfast is huge, definitely don't need to eat lunch!!! They also provide an evening meal on request, there is a large selection on the menu ranging from Roast Chicken dinner to pasta dishes to Salmon Fillet with prawn and parsley sauce. You order your evening meal at breakfast and I would definitely recommend that you try at least one of these meals as they are superb value for the price (£9.00 for 2 courses) and are also huge!!
The hotel is situated a short walk from both the town and the sea front. There is also a bus stop outside the guest house for those that don't drive. There are 3 parking spaces at the back of the guest house and on road parking at the front (although there are not often spaces on the road).
Angela and David provide a warm welcome and nothing is too much trouble for them.
We will definitely be returning to the guest house and also recommending it to family and friends.

Room Tip: Room 6 is a double room on the ground floor, rooms 1 & 2 are at the back of the building, rooms 4...

This was our first visit to the area and my wife and I stayed for seven nights after reading trip advisor reviews. We would recommend this wonderful guest house; nothing was too much trouble for David & Angela. The breakfast and evening meals were truly five star with a good selection of dishes. The only downside was the shower which was a tad small but manageable. Our room was spotless and comfortable. A short walk to the seafront and railway station if you like to visit other places. David is a fountain of knowledge on places to visit, Street parking wasn't a problem and there is a small rear car park We will stay at the Lawnswood on our next visit to Torquay.

Room Tip: All rooms are quiet. Although there is a club next door you there was no noise
