The Cary Court is the place to stay if you want to feel a warm welcome; Paul and Linda clearly have a gift for the lifestyle they have chosen to share with their guests, and will bring you clean, comfortable rooms, and a splendid breakfast with smiles, conversations and charm. We were two midlife-crisis walkers, a hobby we were also able to enjoy each evening after a few pints as we headed uphill (plenty of cabs for those who like to see their horizons), via the short-cut that our hosts advised us of with a glint in the eye. But Torquay centre is very close, and the bay is no more than a ten minute stroll away. The communal rooms, verandah and gardens are accessible to all; unfortunately we were there during the monsoon season, so the pool remained a visual pleasantry only. Thoroughly recommended; and next time I go for the poached eggs...

My and my partner stayed at this lovely place in July 2012. There isn't really much else for me to add that hasn't been said already. Linda and Paul are the most charming hosts you can think of. From the minute we arrived in the rain at the train station and was picked up by Paul and until the the day we left, everything was absolutely perfect. It's hard to realise that you are actually in the UK at the hotel. The garden is full of palmtrees, fruit trees and peculiar (and for England) unusal plants. Unfortunately we couldn't, due to the cold and rainy weather, take advantage of the garden, pool and veranda that much, otherwise we would have been out there all the time. The lounge area are very cosy as well, with a quirky colonial style. Was very nice to sit there and sip wine (you bring your own) and read of play games in the rainy evenings. The breakfast was lovely too. We hadn't mentioned in advance that we are vegetarians but there was plenty on offer. I had slices of mature cheddar, although it wasn't on the menu. Oh, forgot to mention - we also got upgraded, at no extra cost, as there were very few guests the day we arrived. I could recommend this hotel to anyone. Perhaps not if you're not that fit, and don't have access to a car. It is a bit of a hike to walk "downtown". Well not to walk there, as it is downhill, but back. Take a cab instead. It doesn't cost more than £4-5. Cary Court Hotel is simply a home away from home.Thank you Paul and Linda!

I stayed at the Hotel for a week and enjoyed my stay very much. Linda and Paul are perfect hosts. They garantee a cosy atmosphere throughout the house and the marvellous gardens. It is a pleasure staying there either having bright sunshine or rain.

Room Tip: Atlantic room - first floor, wonderful view overlooking the garden; balcony

This was our third stay at Cary Court and proved to be just as delightful as before. Quietly situated and pleasing to the eye, Cary Court has much to offer which can only be fully appreciated by staying there. The room was very well appointed to a high standard, so comfortable and I really wanted to take the bed home! There were several nationalities present during our stay who fully appreciated not only the superb breakfast but also the helpful yet unobtrusive advice on hand from our charming hosts Paul and Linda, whose attention to detail and engaging personality made for an overall delightful experience. Recommended without hesitation.

We stayed at the Cary Court Hotel for seven nights in July 2012 and occupied three rooms - each decorated individually and to a high standard. The house itself, the rooms and the garden are even nicer than photos can show. Linda and Paul are perfect hosts! Friendly and helpful anytime - they look afer and care for details which make your stay unforgettable. Whether you go out for sightseeing (Paul and Linda will provide you with all information needed or wanted) or just stay at the house and garden ( your hosts will make you feel at home) the Cary Court Hotel is a wonderful and perfect place to relax. Don't miss the delicious breakfasts cooked by Linda (it's worth getting up in the morning...)

Recently had an all too brief stay at Cary Court. Paul and Linda were great hosts and extremely helpful from the moment that I'd realized that I had booked the wrong dates to providing directions for our onward journey.

We had a great room, very clean, well resourced and plenty of space. Too cold to take advantage of the swimming pool but it did look very tempting, even in the rain. Would recommend this hotel to anybody.

We thoroughly enjoyed our latest stay at Cary Court the wet weather could do nothing to dampen the sunny disposition of Paul and Linda they made our short break with them yet another happy occasion. Our double bed with memory foam mattress was soooooo comfortable and our ensuite spotlessly clean as always. Linda cooked up a storm of a breakfast and Paul was on hand with a beaming smile and a joke. Cary Court is an experience to be savoured like a good wine. I can't wait for my next visit.

Room Tip: All the rooms we have slept in so far have been fantastic but if I had to choose then I think I migh...
