I agree with most of comments other viitors have made.
Paul & Lynda are very welcoming, and only too pleased to help you in any way they can.
Nice room (although power shower & bigger TV) would have been nicer. Yes we had the bad weather too.
Breakfast was very nice and does the job of setting you up for the day.
They say pictures don't lie, and in this case it is true, the garden is as the pictures show, and if not for the rain would have been explored more.
Not far from the sea front makes this an ideal location for a stay.

My wife and I stayed at this beautiful guesthouse for only one night in mid-July 2012 and wished we had stayed much longer. Linda and Paul are great fun and run a very nice business. The garden is gorgeous and we really enjoyed sharing our passion for exotic plants with Linda while touring her garden. Our bedroom had all the amenities you could wish for and overlooked the garden. The icing on the cake: our full English was splendid! Can't wait to go back!

A very warm welcome, excellent choice at breakfast and the walk to and from Torquay tourist attractions ( pubs and restaurants ) not to difficult, also, having stayed at many B & B's it is a pleasure not to be faced by a long list of do's and don'ts ( house rules ).

Me and my girlfriend (of 21 years of age) spent 6 nights here (originally 5 but we had to extend as we loved it so much!) and had the best time. I echo everything positive word said about this beautiful guest house, and specifically it's propietors who are fun, approachable and generally fantastic!

On arrival you are warmly greeted by Paul or Linda (or both) and you are instantly made to feel relaxed as they explain the facilities and what is on offer in Torbay. During your stay you will be able to enjoy their lovely gardens, pool and elegant sitting rooms, not to mention the wonderfully cooked breakfast.

The rooms are of high quality and are clean, nicely furnished and spacious.

Both Paul and Linda know the best of Torbay and are always on hand to guide you to the best tea rooms, restaraunts, routes through the moors (do yourself a favour and enjoy this), views and just about anything else you wish to see or do.

Make a choice you will not regret and enjoy a stay at Torquay's best!

My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights in June, on arriving we were greeted by Lynda who is lovely and shown around the guest house which is very charming.

Then on to our room which was very nice with an ultra comfortable bed and access to a balcony, this would have been perfect had it not been for the inclement weather at the time. I think we had the tail end of some sort of summer hurricane lol.

There is a bar area where guests can put their own drinks in a cooler (3 bottles of wine for us, I say us, I mean the wife really as she is selfish when it comes to wine!) and there are glasses and an ice machine.

This is next to a seating area adjacent to the breakfast area which are all tastefully decorated with an eclectic mix of furniture, ornaments, pictures and paintings.

We met Lynda's other half Paul at breakfast and he really is a character and good fun (a bit deaf too so SPEAK up when ordering breakfast). I asked for a couple of croissants for breakfast and ended up with a full English.......just kidding, the breakfast was superb.

Unfortunately we couldn't use the swimming pool for the two days as I mentioned earlier there had been a lot of rain (like most of the summer then), the gardens were lovely too and hopefully next time we visit the sun will make an appearance so we can appreciate it more.

Had a great time in Torquay itself and frequented most if not all the bars and restaurants, (the wife likes her wine so I have to follow her round these bars to make sure she is okay) food in all restaurants was very good as was the guinness (the wife just shouted over "so was the wine", think you've guessed by now.......lol).

All in all Cary Court is lovely and Lynda and Paul are top notch hosts, go visit, you will not be disappointed.

Charlie and Toni x

Whatto Chaps and Chapesses, wow what a milestone, 150 reviews from wonderful people who have stayed with us. A huge thank you to one and all. We look forward to seeing you all back again, though obviously not all at the same time. We also look forward to meeting and greeting many new guests. Once again thank you all. Best wishes Paul and Linda.

The Cary Court is the place to stay if you want to feel a warm welcome; Paul and Linda clearly have a gift for the lifestyle they have chosen to share with their guests, and will bring you clean, comfortable rooms, and a splendid breakfast with smiles, conversations and charm. We were two midlife-crisis walkers, a hobby we were also able to enjoy each evening after a few pints as we headed uphill (plenty of cabs for those who like to see their horizons), via the short-cut that our hosts advised us of with a glint in the eye. But Torquay centre is very close, and the bay is no more than a ten minute stroll away. The communal rooms, verandah and gardens are accessible to all; unfortunately we were there during the monsoon season, so the pool remained a visual pleasantry only. Thoroughly recommended; and next time I go for the poached eggs...

My and my partner stayed at this lovely place in July 2012. There isn't really much else for me to add that hasn't been said already. Linda and Paul are the most charming hosts you can think of. From the minute we arrived in the rain at the train station and was picked up by Paul and until the the day we left, everything was absolutely perfect. It's hard to realise that you are actually in the UK at the hotel. The garden is full of palmtrees, fruit trees and peculiar (and for England) unusal plants. Unfortunately we couldn't, due to the cold and rainy weather, take advantage of the garden, pool and veranda that much, otherwise we would have been out there all the time. The lounge area are very cosy as well, with a quirky colonial style. Was very nice to sit there and sip wine (you bring your own) and read of play games in the rainy evenings. The breakfast was lovely too. We hadn't mentioned in advance that we are vegetarians but there was plenty on offer. I had slices of mature cheddar, although it wasn't on the menu. Oh, forgot to mention - we also got upgraded, at no extra cost, as there were very few guests the day we arrived. I could recommend this hotel to anyone. Perhaps not if you're not that fit, and don't have access to a car. It is a bit of a hike to walk "downtown". Well not to walk there, as it is downhill, but back. Take a cab instead. It doesn't cost more than £4-5. Cary Court Hotel is simply a home away from home.Thank you Paul and Linda!
