Paul and Linda were great hosts. Polite, attentive and accomodating. The standard of cleanliness in the rooms was superb. The communal areas were homely and well decorated. A special mention has to go to the tropical gardens and superb swimming pool. Which added a touch of luxury to an already superb experience.

There was a good selection for breakfast and all the food was fresh and well cooked. Especially enjoyed the scrambled egg and salmon! Paul and Linda were very accomodating when it came to specific dietary requirements.

the only down side, was the poor wifi reception but that was a small point to the overall positive experience. Would definitely go again, have recommended Cary court hotel to friends and on Facebook.

Thank you Paul & Linda

We recently returned from a 7 night stay at the Cary Court Hotel. Everything about our stay was lovely. We were given a very warm welcome followed by a tour of the house and garden before being shown to our room. Paul and Linda are very knowledgeable about the area and were more than happy to give tips and advice about places to visit - their restaurant recommendations were excellent! Breakfasts were delicious with a good selection available each day. We took advantage of the BYO drinks fridge In the garden room too. It was lovely to sit in the garden which is very secluded from the road and really quiet and peaceful. Overall, we had a lovely week and wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Cary Court Hotel to anyone looking for somewhere nice to stay in Torquay. If we return to Torquay we definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Aegean Sea room which was on the ground floor and had its own private sitting room...

The hosts Paul and Linda are extremely helpful and friendly, pointing us in the right direction on a number of occasions. I absolutely loved the breakfasts; they were cooked perfectly each time, far better than I am able, and set me up for a good part of the day. We found the house itself very homely indeed; the comfy lounge area leads to the just as relaxing conservatory and then out onto the veranda. From there you overlook the pool and the beautiful, exotically planted garden. The room was very clean and well decorated; the refreshment-tin overflowing with tea and coffee etc, and fresh biccies every day. The bathroom was completely tiled with a very spacious shower cubicle having a superb new shower system.
Cary Court is located well for the harbor, shops and activities. I would recommend The Tudor Rose for an excellent Italian, Legends for a nice Chicken Diane and Thai Star for, well, a Thai meal; all had exquisitely cooked food and great service. We had fun at the Riviera Centre with its flume and wave-machine. A trip to Goodrington sands on the steam train is nice if you are a family with children, an alternative being the delightful Oddicombe beach for those who prefer something more relaxing. Finally, I would say that Kents Cavern, a short walk up Babbacombe Road, is an absolute must. The guide was very approachable, extremely informative and the kids loved him too. The caverns themselves are, for want of a better word, cavernous; only the medically affected should find it even remotely claustrophobic.
All in all, we both thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Cary Court..

Room Tip: The Mediterranean Room was perfect for us.

We have just returned from our holiday touring Devon and Cornwall. Our first stop was at Torquay, staying in the Cary Court bed and breakfast. We found this accommodation using Tripadvisor, reading through the reviews to help us select the appropriate property for us. (We are a middle aged couple).
The accommodation was outstanding, our spacious bedroom on the ground floor had its own separate living room and bathroom. Fixtures and fittings were of a high standard. The proprietors, Linda and Paul were friendly and very knowledgeable about “what’s on” and “what’s to do”.
The grounds of the hotel are very special, full of exotic plants and trees, in fact on some occasions you really felt that you could be on some Caribbean island and not in Devon.
There are lots of great activities and things to do in the area – we will certainly be returning some time in the future.

Room Tip: We loved our room on the ground floor with the separate lounge, but all the guests seemed to be happ...

Absolutely perfect in every way, couldn't fault Cary Court !! Paul and Linda make you at home as soon as you arrive and ensure your stay will be as comfortable as ever. The house is spotless with beautiful furnishings. The garden is gorgeous and exotic with the lovely plants, walkways, decking and of course the swimming pool. Breakfast is wonderful too, always fresh and nicely presented. The 'bring your own bar' in the conservatory is great, with a cooler for your own drinks, all glasses supplied, with ice and lemon provided too, oh and the sink to wash up afterwards !! Location is ideal, a short cut through down into town, about 5 minutes walk. Paul and Linda are very knowledgable about the area and have lots of tips and they go out of their way to ensure your every need is catered for, even changed the mattress on our bed as I have back problems, priceless !! Really can't find fault with this lovely guesthouse and echo the positive comments of other guests. If you stay here, you won't be disappointed

Cary Court -- always a friendly welcome from Paul and Linda in their highly characterful, spotless and comfortable house, with its garden terraces, tropical trees, ornamental and swimming pools. Breakfasts are tasty and ample, and the lounge and conservatory are inviting. Torquay itself is scenic, rising from the busy harbour to a series of hills behind. There are so many possibilities either from attractions in the town like the funfair, or 'sea life', the local beaches and other attractions at Babbacombe with its cliff railway, or nearby Shaldon with its beaches and zpo, to Dartmoor for walkers, and Dartington Hall for the more esoteric. There are so many restaurants of all kinds in Torquay itself, and the town is lively by day and by night. There are several theatres and some pubs have live music.

Room Tip: Different rooms have different views and different aspects, south, east or west.
