This was the perfect English sea-side guest house - small and charming. Our room (one of only 3) was clean, spacious, very nicely decorated and had a new bathroom.
Brian the owner cooked breakfast to order, and would ask the night before if there was anything in particular we wanted.
Note there is no on-site parking, but parking on the street is free and unrestricted.
The sea-front is a short walk away.
Torquay is nice enough, but it was this place that made our visit memorable.

We had a four night stay in Mulberry House. All we can say is lovely, lovely, lovely. Brian you are a star and made us feel so welcome. The breakfasts were wonderful and we could have whatever we wanted. The bed was more comfortable than the one we have at home and as we both start work really early in the morning it was a treat. There was not a speck of dust anywhere and the whole house was spotlessly clean. The bathroom, although small, was immaculate.
Thank you Brian for a wonderful stay and we will see you in March. x

We had a lovely stay at Mulberry House, where Brian made us very welcome and even took the trouble to put out a jug of soy milk for my dairy intolerant husband. It a beautiful house with some very pretty features. The rooms are clean an well maintained and the bed comfy. The only drawback is that there is no car park and the street can be quite busy for parking. On the whole, Mulberry House is an excellent place to stay

Thank you for you recent review, much appreciated. I am so glad you enjoyed your stay & the original period features of this grade 2 Listed building.
The Soya Milk & dairy free breakfasts were no problem at all, always happy to provide for special dietary requirements-with a bit of advanced notice.
You are correct, Torquay in common with other major sea side towns does have a limited number of FREE car parking spaces available. Although the surrounding streets offer unrestricted FREE parking, demand can out strip supply at peak times. However there is a large council car park less than 100 yards from Mulberry House. This car park offers extensive, secure parking at very reasonable rates i.e £1.50 for 4 hours, (rates vary during the year).
Thank you once again for your comments & I hope to see you both again soon. Best Wishes Brian (Owner) :)

My mum and I shared a lovely bright, comfortable room in Mulberry House over the weekend whilst visting family.
The rooms were very clean and comfortable, the service was exceptional, lovely breakfasts and a cosy, relaxing sitting room.
Location is also great, just a few minutes to the seafront, despite being in a centre location its still very quiet in the evenings and we both had a peaceful sleep!
Other guests staying were also very friendly, for most of them its not their first time at the Mulberry.

Having stayed in quite a few B&Bs in Torquay, this is by far the best and we plan on returning in October!

What a lovely little B&B with an excellent owner "Brian" , nothing was to much for him . He made the stay very relaxing and was always on hand with advice on places , bars & restaurants to visit , he also maintains an amazing B&B and it is one of the cleanest my wife and i have ever stayed in so much so that we extended our stay by a night on the day we checked in . My wife unfortunetly red dyed one of the B&B`s towels but Brian simply said don`t worry . The B&B is located a short distance from the town and sea front so if you fancy a walk to the coast it`s down hill or to the top of town it`s slightly up hill then down hill . Older people may struggle with the hill up from the coast or return from the shops but we didn`t mind so much . The street itself has ample free parking we personally had no trouble returning from a trip and finding a parking space . The B&B is near to a couple of quieter bars (which we prefer) a few streets away and an awesome curry house called the "Bombay Express" so not to far to walk home after a nice curry and a few beverages . 10/10 for service , cleanliness & location .

Thanks Brian for your fantastic hospitality. There's no stuffy standing on ceremony at the Mulberry. Very clean, bright and comfortable, a breakfast that keeps coming and perfectly located ten minutes from the beach. A stay at this gorgeous little B&B feels like a special treat - we never like saying goodbye but rest assured we'll be back.

We booked for a week with friends who were getting married in Torquay. The rooms were lovely, very clean and a comfortable bed. Brian the owner served a superb breakfast every morning to your choice.
Thank you Brian, we would definitely recommend Mulberry House for a perfect place to stay and
we would book again.
Brian, thank you.
