“Excellent friendly service with wonderful views”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 May 2013

This was our first visit, but from the moment we stepped in we felt like part of the family. I was amazed at how many of the visitors come every year and made us feel so welcome as well as the staff. The food was excellent home made food with good choice. There was 8 of us and the service in the restaurant was timed perfectly between each of the 5 courses. There were enough tables in the restaurant for the whole hotel to be seated in 1 go, and the same in the entertainment room which meant we could relax on both occasions knowing we would get a seat! The room was very clean and comfortable, the bathroom does need updating but it was very clean and we were hardly in our room so didn't worry us at all. All the rooms seem light and spacious. Is close enough for a hilly walk to the town shopping (about 10 mins) however on the last night the taxi ride was only £4 between 4 of us so that was welcome too! The beach is beautiful and is only a 2 min walk, wish we had more sunsine! And the coastal walk a super walk too. Entertainment was good traditional singing and jokes. And drinks were reasonable. Would highly recommend and will definitely go back! Thanks for a brilliant weekend!

Room Tip: Option to go across and have a spa and swim for only £6 if weather isn't kind to you, or you wan...

This was our first stay at the Balmoral...it won't be the last!
Situated only a 2 minute walk from the beach, the hotel isn't in the main part of Torquay but just around the headland on the eastern side of Torbay.....such a lovely spot!
The hotel was very comfortable and although our room didn't have a sea view, the lounge and terrace did. The food was very good too... The whole package was excellent value.

Room Tip: I can't really comment on the rooms.....ours was fine!

Stayed here quite a few times over the last four or five years. Just gets better and better. Food is excellent, rooms are comfortable and on our weekends, brilliant entertainment. We have even had lovely weather each time!

Room Tip: Some twins are 2' 6" beds which make a 5' for a double. If you want 3' twin beds...

Our 2nd visit to the Hotel Balmoral to celebrate a family birthday. Many of the hotel guests are repeat customers like myself and my husband.
We decided to pay the extra supplements for Room 5, which is a larger room with a bay window with views of the sea and gardens. The room does need updating (especially the bathroom), but is still very comfortable,
The food quality for the price that is charged is of an excellent standard, with plenty of choice.
The staff are very polite, and the hotel is perfectly located for a relaxing break.
A very enjoyable stay.

Room Tip: Room 5 has a sea view and overlooks the lovely gardens, It has a bay window with a seating area, has...

Just returned from our third visit, in seven months, to the Belmoral in Torquay. We had a very enjoyable break. Overall the hotel is impressive - lovely rooms and fantastic, friendly service from the staff - nothing is too much trouble for them.

We brought Our nineteen year old daughter, who was on a break from university, on our last visit. She was very impressed be the food and the staff were extremely kind to her. If she is lucky, we may take her again! Whatever happens, my husband and I will be back again soon.
