“Could do better!”

We stayed in a large room that had a balcony so had a really nice outlook over the bay. The decor and furnishings were a bit tired and carpet needs replaced. We stayed for 5 nights and the towels were not changed throughout our stay. The breakast was ok. Parking was a nightmare but the hotel is within walking distance of the town centre although it is situated up a steep hill.

Just stayed here, sat night june 02. where to start! on arrival the two staff were stood outside on entrance steps smoking, thus nobody on reception. On finding our room as we were not shown to it, we discover broken furniture, a carpet that had lifted in many places and heavily stained, TV with a picture which came with the free snow affect, the curtain rail just about staying on the wall, window would not remain open. the bathroom, damp in various places and mould, and in bad state of decor, water luke warm, take no notice of warning signs to the contrary! After a nights sleep constantly disturbed by noise from people outside entrance i.e 2.00 in morn, where was the night porter? We went down to breakfast, almost laughable, the staff appeared to have slept in there uniforms and didnt seem to have a clue what they were doing! table cloth dirty along with cutlery, most of the full english appeared pre cooked, we didnt touch it and left the room. on departure i made my comments at reception and ask to speak to somebody in authority, after a 10 minute wait was given an address to write too. Thankyou laterooms.com fitst and last time we will use you!!!!

Room Tip: Just avoid!

I stayed in a nice room with a balcony . Wonderful seaview. The hotel has a nice bar and a entertainment area and as the hotel caters mainly for senior citizens, the entertainment is specially chosen for the over 50's . The hotel offers a good value for money as far as accomodation goes, however, unfortunately that does not apply for the food and service in the dining room. Sloppy food, not much variation. Very slow service. Advice: unless they change the chef, do not eat dinner in the hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a balcony. Wonderful view of the bay.

We stayed at this hotel for one Saturday night. We had a room with a balcony and sea view, for which we did not have to pay any extra. The hotel has a good location although it is up a rather steep hill from the sea front. The view is absolutely wonderful. It was really quiet, which is what we like. The breakfast was good with a good choice of food and the waitress service was good. We thought the room was fine, nice bathroom and lovely comfortable beds.

We wished we had stayed longer and would certainly consider staying there for a few days, say Monday to Friday.

Probably it is suited to the more mature guest, which is what we are.

We felt the only downside was that we could not check in until 4 pm which meant we had to walk round Torquay for most of the day carrying our bag. Fortunately, as we were staying only one night it did not have too much in it.

We would recommend this hotel. We would also recommend a trip on the Ferry across to Brixham. Brixham is a lovely old fishing village. It is really beautiful.

Stayed for one night last week and it was just fine! O.K so it could do with a little refurbishment and a few more modern touches, but for the price (£25) it was better than most budget hotels I have had to stay in! When I first arrived they had unfortunately booked me in the wrong day, but was dealt with very quickly by helpful staff and ended up getting a room big enough for 3! I don't think I could stay longer than a few nights and I'm not sure I would actually recommend this place, but for a short trip it was just right.

Room Tip: If coming from the station, GET A TAXI! Quite a steep uphill walk for around 10 minutes, definitely...
