“Excellent accommodation, spotless room”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 November 2013

The accommodation was excellent and the room spotless. The cooked breakfasts on both days were first class. Although the bed was a double (we are used to a king size) the sheets and decor were lovely. The owners were very welcoming and friendly and we would be happy to return again in the future.

A Warm friendly welcoming guesthouse close to beach. We were given a family room for me my husband our baby and our dog, we had one double bed two singles and a travel cot. Plenty of room for us all. Breakfast was very nice and we were attended to quickly. Would defiantly recommend to stay here . Thank you for a lovely stay.

Booked a last minuite one night stay at the Sandpiper,we arrived early as we had to meet relatives Russel signed us in promptly and allowed us on our way to enjoy the lovely Torquay..
We were in room 1 ,this is on the ground floor and was wheel chair friendly the room was
spotless and well decorated with an immaculate en suite.the.bed was also very comfortable..
Breakfast next day was an excellent full English with toast and buckets of coffee, a wide range of cerial, juices etc was also available all this served up by Russels wife Helen..
we didn,t get chance to check out the Bar this time, but will return here again thanks.....

Helen and Russell were very hospitable and gave us lots of advice about what to see and even gave us their own ticket to see Kent Caverns as they wernt going to use them. The rooms were great, the bathroom is small but adequate. Location is good with a short walk to the seafront and very close to a very good Indian resteraunt. The value was tremendous getting 4 nights for the price of three by booking direct. There is a bar with reasonably priced drinks and food can also be had if you want an evenig in. Over all we had a great stay and very pleased we chose to stay here.

WE booked this online early in the year, as never been to Devon before. On arrival we were at ease rite away. Nice well decorated room en suite, very well equipped and spotless. Helen and Russell were very helpful, and the breakfast was superb. Yes we will stay here again.

Room Tip: They are all good

We Were made very welcome at the Sandpiper, with a restaurant recommendation that was very useful. Our room was in the attic and small with the bathroom across the corridor, (unfortunately I couldn't lock the door which was slightly unnerving even though it was for our use only). Comfortable beds and a good TV made our stay feel homely.
Breakfast was great, a lovely choice of fruit and every need was catered for. A half hour slot for breakfast was fine for us but might not suit everyone.
I think the price was very reasonable and very well located for the town.

Had a superb 5 days staying at the sandpiper it's wonderfully run, Russell & Helen go the extra mile to ensure you have a relaxing stay.
The Sandpiper is perfect for families and location wise only a short walk to the front & close to the Abbey you couldn't ask for anything more.
Breakfast is superb I had a fry up everyday, although there are plenty of cereals, fruit etc. to choose from also if you fancy a healthy option.
The bar is cheaply priced and is a nice place to sit and relax if like us you can't go out due to having small children.
Rooms are immaculate and tastefully decorated the cleanliness is faultless & the beds are so comfortable you'll sleep like a log.
To sum up: perfect hosts, excellent location, excellent food & Torquay is gorgeous we didn't want to leave. We will be back next year without fail.

Room Tip: No 5 is superb - great view too!
