The hotel was very nice and comfortable. The hosts were lovely people. We would recommend this place if you are looking to experience the town without the long trek. The breakfast was good and the little extra touches (tea on arrival, bottled water, shower gel etc) made the trip. Will definitely go back.

My wife and I stayed at The Kingsholm Hotel from Monday 5th September for 4 nights and I must say that we would have absolutely no reservations about returning here when we are next in Torquay. Everything was spot on from the welcoming coffee brought to our room on arrival to the friendly goodbye and wish for a safe journey home on departure. We were made to feel most welcome at all times. Our room was spotlessly clean and very spacious and had a very ample bathroom with walk in shower, toilet and hand basin. The view from our window looked out onto Torwood Gardens which was quite picturesque. Breakfast was excellent and ample and every bit as good as most 5 star hotels and set us up nicely for the day. The hotel is about a 5 minute stroll from the harbour up a slight incline, which might be a bit of a hike for somebody with mobility problems, but there are various buses which stop a few yards from the front of the hotel. The Kingsholm also has its own car park which is a bonus as parking in Torquay is fairly expensive.
We would highly recommend the Kingsholm to anybody looking for a break in Torquay. Thank you very much to the owners, Carl & June, for making our stay so enjoyable and we look forward to staying with you again in the future.

Room Tip: Room 3 is thoroughly recommended

My husband and I have just returned from a weeks holiday at the Kingsholm and can honestly say, this having been the first time we have been to Devon, we have not felt so relaxed after being looked after so well. The location is excellent and so central that you are able to leave the car and just chill. Our room was facing the front, overlooking the gardens and was very well stocked with all you would need. Tea/coffee,biscuits, hairdryer, tv, radio/alarm and a very comfy bed. June and Carl were just wonderful and so helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast is delicious and set us up for the day. If there was anything negative to say it would be the traffic noise BUT... as I have to wear earplugs (husband snoring)!!!!, I was not at all bothered by this.
We would definately recommend the Kingsholm to anyone who is wanting a relaxed, homely holiday in a lovely part of the world and wish June and Carl lots and lots of success for the future.

My sister and I stayed at the Kingsholm for a week in the middle of August. We drove and were able to park easily in a carpark at the top of Museum Road, just a short walk down the hill leads you into the back of Kingsholm. We were met by Carl who runs Kingsholm with his wife June and their family. June and Carl are very friendly and make you feel really at home. Our room was clean and very comfortable and the breakfasts were wonderful. We were able to explore the area in the day time knowing that we could pop back to our room when ever we needed for a comfortable rest. We will reccomend the Kingsholm to family and friends. We had a wonderful break.
