This is a lovely hotel in a quiet area of Torquay. Our room was very comfortable with a good sized ensuite and a balcony overlooking the front of the hotel. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice. There is an option for evening meal which we took. 2 courses for £12 or 3 courses for £16. We considered this to be very good value and the food was delicious and beautifully presented. Overall the hotel was extremely clean and the owners were very welcoming - nothing was too much trouble. We would thoroughly recommend the Hotel Iona.

Not knowing the area very well we booked the hotel Iona not knowing what to really expect.
We were in for a real treat. The Hotel was friendly, clean, comfy, near to the seafront but not close enough to hear the nighclubs and overall exceded our expectations.
The food was really good in the evening and breakfast was also great as was the service throughout our stay.
Not only would we go back but we would recommend this hotel for anyone staying in the area.
This hotel is a real gem, other hotels were to close to all the nightclubs or had large stag/hen parties staying and some of our other family members who stayed at the travelodge did not get any sleep.
So a big thank you to all the staff at the Hotel Iona

Room Tip: Room with a balcony is a must!

What can I say, we have stayed in Torquay many times as we have family living down there so are often in that area for one thing or another, when we discovered this hotel on our 1st visit we loved it and stayed there a 2nd time for another family party, now having returned from a 3rd stay there, it just reconfirmed what a fab place it is.
The owners and staff are all lovely and it's so nice when you return somewhere and are remembered, each visit they have been so accomodating, making sure they could fit myself, my husband and our Three daughters into one of their many lovely rooms.
1st visit we stayed in the family room which was fab for a family of 5, the kids room was even in a different section to the adults which made bedtime easier for everyone.
2nd visit we stayed in the Superior Double room, very large room with nice big windows which lets lots of light in, again this was a lovely room and accomdated us very comfortably.
3rd and most recent visit we stayed in the Premier double Balcony room as we only had 2 out of the 3 children and this room is again lovely and would outshine many 5* hotels we have previously stayed in. Love the high ceilings aswell which makes it feel all the more spacious.
We will definately be back as no doubt there will be lots more family gatherings in the future.
Special mention for the little doggy who our little baby absolutely loves!!!

We stayed at Iona for 4 nights in July 2011. Our room was very good, large, well furnished (very large comfy bed). There were doors out to a large patio area, with outside seating overlooking a quiet area. The Hotel is well situated within easy reach shops & a good Pub on Belgrave Road. Its a short slightly uphill walk to get there, then you can stroll downhill to the Sea Front.

Breakfast is very good with host, Roy attentive and things never too much trouble. Parking is very good, with Roy collecting our heavy suitcases, on arrival and up to the room with them.
Iona is one of those grand old houses of yesteryear, rooms are spacious, and well furnished. There are very much as shown on the Website and we were more than pleased.

Roy and his wife couldn't have been more helpful ....... definitely the right place to stay in Torquay.

Room Tip: Our room was a Premier Balcony double. excellent value, roomy well furnished with a great bed, just...
