We stayed at the Crown Lodge Hotel in Torquay for two nights in June, it was reasonably priced but turned out to be a very comfortable place to stay, the beds were great, the en-suite facilities were very good, the owners were very helpful, and the breakfasts - well we were absolutely spoiled for choice and for the quality of the cooking, best we've ever had in a UK B&B! Would certainly recommend to anyone going to the Torbay area!

Room Tip: Ask the owners for advice, they will be helpful.

We recently had the good fortune to stay 2 nights at this excellent B&B.
Welcoming hosts and wide choice of quality breakfasts, lovely bed linen & comfi beds.
Our ground floor twin room had ensuite shower (wetroom) and suited us perfectly as my partner has some mobility challenges.
The standard of cleanliness was exceptional both in our room/bathroom and the dining room and entrance areas.
All we could wish for was provided; tv with built in dvd player, tea/coffee making equipment (including the fresh milk we prefer and were offered automatically), fridge with complimentary water, range of complimentary toiletries, hairdryer and lovely soft towels. There was also an ironing board and iron, as if I was likely to iron on holiday!! Plus an electric fan and black out blinds. Not much else we could have needed really, oh yes free off road parking was also provided!
We will be returning and have no hesitation in recommending.

Thank You Both.

Room Tip: Ground floor twin room for the less mobile or if looking for a fully accessible room check them out as they have a further ground floor room which is wheelchair friendly.

What a great place to stay! My husband and I booked 3 nights in Torquay at this lovely B&B and had a very nice stay. Both owners are very friendly and nice. Everything is where it should be, the rooms are very cosy, the breakfast delicious, the location very close to the sea (10-15 Min. walk, it depends how fast one is :).
We had to drive pretty early on Sunday morning, and the owners were so nice to arrange a small breakfast for us.
The next time we visit Torquay, we will be delighted to book a room at the Crown Lodge. A big thank you to John and Linda. :) from Mira & Paul

We had a Buy a Gift voucher but paid £15 pn to upgrade. From our initial contact right through to the end of our stay the service was excellent. The whole hotel is spotlessly clean and well maintained throughout. Our room (3) was on the first floor at the front. It was a large room with bay window and everything we needed for a very comfortable stay, including tea/coffee making facilities, complimentary bottle of water and toiletries. There is ample car parking for all of the rooms. John and Lynda were delightful, helpful and friendly without being overbearing. Lynda's breakfast is a real treat and the menu extensive. It's about a 20 minute walk to the centre which was pleasant and we varied the route each time we went. We would highly recommend staying here and definitely will return!

Room Tip: All of the rooms looked lovely and of a very high standard.

My wife and I recently stayed here and couldn't have asked for a nicer place. The hosts, Lynda & John, went out of their ways to ensure we had as comfortable a stay as possible after we accidentally (entirely our own fault) booked a first floor room as opposed to the ground floor for my disabled wife. The room was spacious, beautifully clean, had a lovely big king size bed and a very convenient en-suite wet room. The black-out blind to prevent a local streetlight keeping us awake was a clever touch too.
As for breakfast - the traditional English was awesome every time. I'm no light eater and left the dining room every morning feeling set up for the day! My wife enjoyed her Maple syrup pancakes too. For the more health-conscious there was no end of various fruits, cereals etc.
In summary, we cannot recommend this establishment too highly and will without hesitation stay here again. If I were forced to make a criticism, it would be that the wifi reception in room 3 is (as we we told upon arrival) a little iffy. A typical 21st century problem!
Oh, and John didn't even seem to mind me calling him Alan the whole time!
