excellent breakfasts, five minutes walk to sea front and local shops etc. room was nice and clean. great place to relax and enjoy the local entertainment and boat trips etc. fridge was stocked with various beers, wine and chocolate which could be purchased and tea tray was well stocked with various flavours of tea, coffee and chocolate drinks sachets etc. freeview tv, various books available in the room if you just wanted to relax and have a read. hairdryer, iron and ironing board in the room. Soap and shower gel were supplied also. My mom and I would recommend this guest house.

A 4 night break to chill and relax was needed and we picked the right guest house in the Torquay area. Michael and Maureen were the perfect hosts and was around when we required information on the local area for entertainment and trips. Breakfast was cooked to perfection and they do use quality suppliers not large supermarket brands. We booked the 4 poster room and although the bed takes up a lot of the space there is still plenty of room to move around.
On our first breakfast my wife asked for hot water to put her green teabag in ( brought from home ), by the time we returned from a walk there was a box of green tea placed in our room. A lovely touch and much appreciated. Ideal location for evening entertainment if you do not want nightclubs and noise and other larger Hotels, of which there are plenty, allow non residents so we had different places to visit each night. The guest house was quiet day and night even though it was full and that makes a difference when you want to unwind. All in all we had a great stay with boat trips, local scene and walks along the coast and of course the service provided by the hosts. will be back!

Thank you so much for this lovely review, which is even more appreciated as I understand you are also in the industry. We love the area that we live in and as it was your first visit to the English Riviera we wanted you to enjoy as much as possible during your stay. We have lived here for a little over 7 years, and we are still finding wonderful places, so it really is impossible to fit everything in on a four day break, but it is great to go away from a place knowing that if you return there is still so much more to see. Thank you again, and we would welcome another visit when you are able to have another much needed break.

We chose to stay in Torquay to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary, and were not disappointed.

The Westbrook is a very comfortable guest house, with little touches that made our stay enjoyable.

Check in was smooth and quick and we were shown to our room, the room was warm and comfortable, and we liked the extras like an alarm clock in the room, well stocked tea and coffee tray and quality loo roll and soap in the dispensers.

We had to fill in a form to order breakfast the day before, and the breakfast was lovely, we were impressed by the quality of the food served.

Would we recommend this quest house....yes

Would we stay here again.....yes

we have been here in 2010,as a couple,we liked it so much we decided to come again in 2011,with 2 other people, our room was really lovely & very clean,we asked for the same room when we came 2nd time, maureen was a nice lady, very friendly, also the staff was very nice. the breakfast was really nice,so i don't no why some people r saying it wasn't because it was. the distance from guest house to the town centre is about 20mins,but that didnt bother us. we would recommend to family or friends. we travelled from newport south wales.

Room Tip: we stayed in the family room which was a nice room and it was the 2nd time we stayed in that room and the bed was so nice to sleep in,we recommend this room

Thank you for the lovely review, and for taking the time to do it. I would just like to say that 20 mins would take you right down to the harbour and bottom of the town centre from here if you took the seafront walk, but if you go in the opposite direction from the Westbrook the top of the town centre and the Town Hall can be reached within 5 mins.

Stayed during week commencing 19th March for The Dreamcoats and Petticoats Theatre Break, unable to post review earlier.
Maureen and Mike brilliant hosts as always.
The evening meals included with the break were exceptional loved the Pear Bread and Butter Pudding, Looking forward to returnign soon.

Room Tip: Very quiet area of Torquay, but close and convenient for beach and shops.
