Stayed this bank holiday weekend and and honestly say everything was perfect. Like a top hotel but with added personal service. Great breakfast cooked to order by Carol too. The bedroom is so lovely.

I will definitely stay here again if in this area. Thank you Elmdene for making our stay a pleasure.

This is the second time we have stopped at this hotel. The breakfasts are fantastic. Loads of choice which caters for every taste. Very friendly and knowledgeable hosts. Nothing was too much trouble. The hotel is in a quite location but within easy walking distance of Torquay centre. The room we stayed in had everything and more than we needed. The tea/coffee etc was replenished every day, as was the fresh milk in the silent-running fridge. There was even a bottle of filtered water in the fridge for us. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

I stayed at Elmdene with my partner a fortnight ago in room 4. We loved the spacious and exceptionally well-maintained room, and got wi-fi signal with no problem. It was the little extras like milk in the fridge which made you realise what a special place this is. The hosts were very welcoming and you felt at home in the place straight away. They provided a wonderful breakfast with plenty of choice. Elmdene is of such a high standard that I cannot find any fault with it and really hope to stay here again in the future.

Very very hard to fault. Superb variety of breakfasts of a high standard with some real attention to detail missed by most places, friendly welcome and very convenient location with parking for guests. The room was spotless and very comfortable. Even the Kettle in the room was clean!

There was not view to speak of at all but we knew that before we arrived, and would definitely go back

We have just returned after a five day break in Torquay, and the better for it. It was our good fortune to have reserved accommodation at the Elmdene, which set the tone for our time in Torquay. The standard of comfort and hospitality surpassed our expectations, and it's no surprise that it enjoys such a high rating.
The hallmark of this establishment is quality. This is evident from the moment one steps inside the door. The tasteful furnishings the decor, and the warm greeting from the proprietors betrayed the many thoughtful touches, and wholesome breakfasts that were to follow.

This is a warm homely, family hotel, managed to the highest professional standards. The proprietors have clearly put much thought into the quality of the accommodation which they offer and have not cut any corners in the process.
We spent a short but happy time in Torquay, made special by Carol & Andy Gibbs. We look forward already to the next time

Room Tip: We had room no. 4. It was 5star, large, well furnished, with everything one could ask for. The qualit...

Stayed at Elmdene for 3 nights in room 2. Nice clean hotel. Good choice at breakfast. Would have liked a bath in the room but thats my fault for booking before reading the room details. Wasnt abe to get the wi-fi signal 95% of the time in the room but it wasnt a problem. Would recommend to couples who want to relax away from kiddies :)

Room Tip: Room 2 has a joining "tv room" is you dont want to watch TV in bed.

The Elmdene is a homely Bed & Breakfast with 6 rooms. It is ideally situated being only a 5 minute walk to the promenade, a 20 minute walk to the harbour and only a 5 minute stroll into Torre Abbey grounds.
Carol and Andy were the perfect hosts, very welcoming on our arrival and very obliging throughout our stay.
We were in Room 1 on the first floor. This room is very large with a high ceiling and an en suite. The attention to detail with the furniture, fittings and decor is fabulous and complete with a small fridge containing a jug of fresh milk and a bottle of water. Elmdene also provide in the room an iron, and ironing board, electric heater, hair dryer, and selection of toiletries in the shower room. The high level of decoration in the room is modern but stylish and stunning.
The very high quality breakfast is made with produce that is both locally sourced and fresh for both the buffet starters and the wide variety of choices from the cooked menu, and all is topped off by the friendly service given by Andy.
We had a wonderful time in Torquay and Carol & Andy made it that extra bit special - we will be returning to the Elmdene.
