So happy they have thought of everything there was a fan a heater iron and ironing board in a large wardrobe..... Slippers and and bathrobe ..... Lovely thick soft white towels they even had a DVD player in the draw if u wanted to use it..... Lovely nights sleep and woke up to have a wonderful fresh breakfast the next day... Fantastic and friendly is only the beginning of this wonderful Elmdene experience! The breakfast was cooked to perfection by Carol and Andy was always the perfect host! The little touches made this a place to return to- especially the glass water bottles on the bedside tables, the cookies, the sewing kit and everything else you need to visit to see. We had room #3 and loved the set-up, king bed, 2 comfy chairs, dresser,make-up mirror/desk, wardrobe for hanging clothes and a great shower ! Wish I could take cooking lessons from Carol!! What a wonderful couple Andy and Carol are and we felt like part of the family when we left! Hi from Alan and Cindy

We stayed at the Elmdene last week (w/c Mon 7th July ) this was our second visit. The hotel is a perfect gem. It is faultless. Carol & Andy are all you would hope to find as hosts. The standard of our room was first class with a high degree of attention to detail in the fixtures and fittings and those additional touches, such as dressing gowns, slippers, and a small fridge.
Breakfast offered a wide range of choice to suit all tastes, with food freshly prepared, and served in the light and airy dining room.
Carol & Andy were charming and attentive, willing to do all they could to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. We will definitely be returning again.
The Hotel is situated in a quiet area close to the railway station. The excellent local bus service is a short walk away.It is a level walk of some 10-15 mins to Torquay harbour and amenities

Once again an excellent stay at The Elmdene. The welcome was great. Andy and Carol are so friendly and cannot do enough for you. Room 1 was spotless like the other rooms we have stayed in when there. Breakfasts to die for. Looking forward to next year!

We picked Elmdene for our short break in May, based on reviews, and what a great choice.
Carol and Andy have done a great job on the quality of the interior. Our room was on the second floor and was very spacious, with all the little touches you could want, small fridge, dressing gowns etc. Breakfast was excellent with a wide choice of fruit, cereal and cooked items. Would fully recommend a stay at this excellent B&B.

Just come home from what was our fourth visit to the fabulous Elmdene in Torquay.
We have stayed in four different rooms, every one of them has been immaculate and we can't wait to try out the remaining two.!
Carol and Andy are the perfect hosts. They are pleasant and helpful at all times and never overbearing.
The breakfasts freshly cooked by Carol every day sets you up until well into the afternoon and there is a very wide choice available too.
All in all, we can't recommend The Elmdene highly enough.. If you are thinking of visiting beautiful Torquay, look no further than The Elmdene.

Room Tip: Whichever room you choose will be good.

Booked this hotel due to rating on trip advisor and have just completed a four night stay with my wife in Room 6 . Rooms five and six are in the converted roof space.
The rooms are clean, well thought out and have modern with facilities as indicated on the hotel website. Although the weather was warm during our visit, the window opening size in the loft and bathroom kept the accomodation aerated.
There is a small lounge and bar and the owner, Andy, is friendly, helpful and chatty.
Breakfast is high quality, largely locally sourced and freshly cooked . There is a lot of choice .
The hotel is located a fairly level ten minute walk from Torquay rail station, fifteen minute pleasant walk through Torre Abbey gardens to the town centre, and has a bus stop just outside for transport into Torquay. Cockington Village is a twenty minute walk .
There is an on site parking space for each of the six rooms
This hotel is a benchmark for others to aspire to

Room Tip: All rooms are good. Probably first floor rooms are best with less stairs
