“Another great holiday”
Reviewed 19 August 2014

Spent two weeks at Lincombe Hall, leaving last Sunday - this was the 3rd year running we have spent 2 weeks at this hotel and it didn't disappoint. We were in room 4 which is huge and with a view of the Torquay front. Everything about the room is excellent and it was always clean and tidy when we returned each day. The food was really good and we enjoyed all our breakfasts and evening meals - we cannot speak too highly of the service at meals and all the staff were attentive, efficient and pleasant. We used the outdoor pool nearly everyday and it was always warm - the surrounding area with loungers made a pleasant place to relax when the sun shone. As always we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and were sad to leave - we will be back!

It was a delight to stay here, it is so elegant. Honestly, I’d pay an entrance fee just to look round the building! It is a stunning house, sensitively restored to retain all of its 1920’s charm with 4* modern comforts. The bedroom and public lounges feel enormous, high ceilings and tall windows giving lots of light. The bed was huge, very comfortable and with good quality linen.

The outdoor pool really is as warm as the indoor one! You could enjoy it even if it was raining. Extensive green grounds, private, would be very happy to sunbathe here all day and the bar is close at hand. There are two real fires in the lounges, a winter stay must be very atmospheric – a great place to spend Hallowe’en or Bonfire Night.

All very friendly and relaxed, no stuffiness at all. Perfect example of how to guide an outstanding period piece into another century.

Only had a short stay so no time to sample the evening meal, but it featured English standards at extremely good value. The breakfast was excellent, cooked in small batches, so it’s all fresh even though it’s a buffet.

Bring your best clothes, have a cocktail and pretend you’re in a costume drama.

Room Tip: Room 5 (gold room) was super - good view, plenty of space and a separate dressing area.

Stayed here for one night. The hotel is situated in a beautiful location (on a small hill ) and not far from the town centre. A lovely hotel with great facilities, very friendly service and very quiet. The rooms are well equipped and spotlessly clean. The breakfast offered plenty of choice and was very good, served by attentive staff. Would definitely stay here again.

I find it very hard to believe that Lu F is reviewing the same hotel that I visited yesterday evening. The Lincombe Hall Hotel is a very warm, welcoming, well run hotel. It is spotlessly clean and tidy, decorated throughout with impeccable taste. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel, every single member of staff I encountered were helpful and courteous. It gets a very definite 5 star rating from me!

My daughter and I enjoyed a fabulous five days here in July. From the moment we arrived until we sadly said farewell, everything was spot on. The owners and dedicated staff are to be congratulated on a job well done. The rooms are great (ours was 5) with everything you need including a fan and heated towel rail for drying swimsuits etc. Everything is scrupiously clean and the food is first class. The view of the ferris wheel and the sea was a bonus as was the lovely outside pool and jacuzi. It is a super hotel with a warm, family feel and one I will certainly return to with the rest of my family. Can't fault it!

Room Tip: Gold rooms are a must!

Thank you for your fabulous review, we are so pleased you and your daughter enjoyed everything about the hotel, including your room and the facilities, the pool and Jacuzzi and the food. I will pass on your comments about the cleanliness to our housekeeping team. We hope the ferris wheel will be an annual attraction in Torquay as all the front bedrooms in the main hotel have a lovely view of both the sea and the wheel especially when it is lit up at night. We look forward to you returning to the hotel.
Kind regards

Just got back from the Lincombe Hall Hotel in Torquay, very nice hotel has won numerous awards and is just a great place to stay while visiting Torquay, large hotel with its own grounds, outdoor pool and jacuzzi also small in door pool, staff were excellent and helpful, bar area was very nice, room was great, modern clean, we had a patio area with seating which was unexpected but lovely as the weather was good enough to sit outside in the sun. Breakfast was buffet style and lots of it good quality as well. All in all a great place to stay and will definitely go back again.

Room Tip: Try to get a patio room
