We booked this en route to Torquay and were a bit skeptical, but all our fears were soon dissuaded when we received a very warm welcome. We even reached earlier than planned but the room was ready. Travelling with a little one we were worried about little things and kept pestering Rick and Sarah but nothing was ever too much.

Its in a nice location, under 5 minutes walk on a straight road from beach front. As other reviewers have said its a bit noisy from the traffic on the road, but after a tiring day at the beach we fell asleep pretty much straight away and didn't really bother us.

Don't get me started on breakfast, Rick and Sarah put an amazing spread of various cereals, yogurts, dried and fresh fruit. A full English, Sarah had already anticipated that we are vegetarians and prepared accordingly.

There are so many little touches that makes the stay so much enjoyable it makes me think I am not staying at a chain hotel again.

I would recommend this place to anyone. Very family friendly

We stayed for a few days and were tempted by the reviews online - especially of the breakfast and friendly service and we weren't disappointed.

Rick and Sarah were very friendly and welcoming - even when we arrived much earlier than planned. They even called the day before we arrived to check everything was ok and check our ETA which we thought was a lovely touch. They were very happy to offer advice throughout our stay and made our trip very enjoyable.

The room was spotless and well kitted out. The bathroom was also very clean and the shower nice and powerful. Plenty of wardrobe space and a large chest of draws meant we could unpack easily. The room also had large windows which let the light in in the evening. Our only slightly niggle was the road we overlooked - it was very noisy, especially when the windows were open.

Breakfast was lovely - just what we needed for the day ahead. Very good selection of cereal, fruit and yogurt and a large choice for cooked breakfast. The also had a lovely touch of offering a small guest fridge opposite our room.

This small hotel lived up to expectation and we'd definitely recommend it to others

Needed somewhere to stay for the night and as usual I booked through a search engine, I checked out reviews before hand and all I can say is they are all spot on.
Pleasant, friendly B&B, our room was lovely everything you need is supplied, there is a guest fridge on the landing along with an iron and ironing board.

Hosts Rick and Sarah make you so welcome, finding out your names and using them during the whole stay, I even had reason to ring Rick today and he recognised my voice calling me by name, it's little touches like this that make you feel welcome.

Breakfast was excellent with a good choice and good quality ingredients.

Will we be back, you can be certain of it, it is ideally situated for town, theatre and sightseeing.

The breakfast was amazing cereals, fruit, yogurt and full english. The full english is amazing and not to forget the hot chocolate. The room itself was extremely clean just how we like it and all furniture was of the best quality. The room is very much like home and the window on the ceiling made us feel like we are sleeping under the stars. Rick and Sarah were very respectful and treated us with a lot of respect and made us feel welcome and safe. Even though its just a 4 star its definitely felt like 5 for us. The location is two minutes from a park where you can play golf and tennis. Its 5 minutes away from the beach and the view is amazing. We are very attention to detail and fussy but Rick and Sarah had everything so perfect for us so we didn't have one single fault. Brandize hotel is somewhere we wish to come to again. Its not noisy either. We appreciate Rick and Sarah hospitality.

Very pleasant stay in this friendly bed and breakfast. Rooms were nice, very clean and thoughtful touches such as chocolates and biscuits with the tea and coffee making facilities. Breakfast was good, with fresh fruit and lots of options. Rick and Sarah (and their two delightful grandchildren- staying for half-term week) were very welcoming and made our stay extra special. About 10 minute walk to the sea-front through the grounds of the Abbey, and then further 10 minutes to harbour area. Might be worth taking a torch if you intend walking back after dark!

You could not find a warmer welcome than at the Brandize. Rick and Sarah are excellent hosts and nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are furbished to an excellent standard and those added extras fall nothing short of a 5* hotel and is well deserving of the 4* star rating they have. So much choice at breakfast, cereals, yoghurts, fresh and dried fruit followed by at full English plus the choice of fried, poached or scrambled eggs not forgetting the toast! We would not hesitate to recommend the Brandize to anyone.

I should start by saying I am the fussiest person in the world. But genuinely have nothing but praise for Rick and Sarah.

We were met at the door after a long drive with everything we needed to know and a friendly introduction. We were then shown to our room, the room itself was incredibly clean and well presented with tea and coffee facilities. And then I soon checked out the smoking area at the side of the building.

Breakfast was wonderful, even catering for the fact I'll only eat bacon well done. The local handmade sausages were to die for and again that's something I'm very particular with.

We went to the local shop to buy extra milk so not to worry them by asking for extra and went out for the day (hoping it wouldn't heat up too much) to our surprise we got back to a note on the door. "I hope you don't mind I put your milk in the fridge outside of your room" we hadn't even noticed a fridge but very grateful for them saving it for us.

The tea and coffee was replenished while we were out and the room cleaned thoroughly even leaving some chocolates for us.

The last thing to say is that both Rick and Sarah are extremely friendly and if we ever come back to Torquay I know we'll be staying at The Brandize Guest House again.
