Staff very good and helpful. food also good. Passages of which there were many had wallpaper torn off and dirty. First room had mould in bathroom worn out dirty carpet and a pipe also dirty running through it. Second room ok apart from the cockroach. Would i and the coach passengers go back every one said no.

Room Tip: If you are wanting a good room check your room before you unpack, if it is a poor room, go straight...

Thank you for your positive comments about the staff and food at the hotel. It is an old building and the assistant manage is currently undertaking a project to refurbish the corridors throughout the hotel, which as you will be aware is a very large establishment. I hope you find a more suitable destination for your travel requirements

A typical holiday hotel. Very good and friendly staff, let down by the poor rooms, many of which were shabby! A regime of regular inspection followed by some DIY maintenance would make an enormous difference. Bay Hotels really do need to take a customer's view of this hotel and get on top of the issues before they become subsumed by the volume of what are mainly minor but irritable issues.

Thank you for your review. As you can see I personally look at each review and take on board all the comments. We do have an extremely busy maintenance team and try hard to stay on top of the wear and tear caused by operating at almost full capapcity week in week out. I hope you would consider revisiting us again in the future

If you like holes in the ceiling, dirty rooms this is the holiday for you.
It was to be a a hoilday to remember and it will be for all the wrong reason's
We could not fault the staff, meals or the coach driver (Sharon) or the excursions and the
scenery was fantastic it was the general state of the hotel and the manager was never
seen after our arrival until the morning we left. We asked at reception for a smiple thing like a toilet roll four times before they managed to replace it ( I think they popped into town to buy one
ha ha ) sorry wouldn't go to another Bay hotel if this is what we could expect very, very dissapointed.

Room Tip: Stay at home

Went on a coach trip with national holidays 23rd july - 27th july to this hotel for my birthday with my bf, we was worried what to expect with all the negative reviews about it when we got there it was what you would expect for the price you pay, our room was modern all nice and clean the entertainment was brilliant (especially the comedy act) Chris also got everyone involved some areas did need to be refurbished but no complaints here apart from the food is just enough no good if you got good appetites lol, looking to go again to this hotel again early next year would recommend it to anyone and the weather was lovely, beach is also close to hotel about 5min walk also local bus to Torquay itself would recommend the ferry to paignton also.

Room Tip: if your not wanting to hear the entertainment then i would suggest a higher level room as on first f...

We stopped at the Trecarn Hotel in March 2012 on a trip with National Holidays and found it to be a very nice hotel. The meals were very good and the room were a good size. I know that it need refurbishing but they just don't have the time to close the hotel to do it as they are booked out nearly every week. I would like to recommend this hotel if traveling to Torquay.

Room Tip: Just enjoy yourself around Torquay as you only need a bed to sleep in at night and can't complai...

Just came back from a 5 day break with National Holidays. we stayed at the Bay Trecarn Hotel, the food at the hotel was very nice for the first two days, then it seemed to go down hill, but was still OK. The hotel has seen better days and is a very tired building, almost every wall, door and window needs some kind of work doing, interior decor was very shabby. I was quite disappointed with my room, it was very small, even though it was a double room. One wardrobe with six hangers inside, double bed that was very lumpy and bedding was never changed and the pillows were very thin. The bathroom was so small I almost got stuck under the wash basin when I went to use the toilet, the toilet seat was not fixed to the toilet and the extractor fan did not work, as a result of no fan, the ceiling was full of black mould, paint was peeling from the shower door and the heater element in the kettle was rusty, we reported the fan problem to reception, and they sent someone to look at it, he said the maintenance man would have to look at it the next day, but he never came, I knew I would be wasting my time complaining about the room, as many other guests where unhappy with there rooms. The hotel is in a nice location, but I would not go back to the Trecarn.

Room Tip: If you want a nice room, choose another hotel.

Where do i start ...i know people say you get what you pay for but ....come on ...there is no need for filth .. my "1st" room was mouldy and dirty with odd furnisher .i thought.i wont let this put me off as the area is lovely but then the window ledge came off in my hand and when i tried to close the curtains they fell on top of me ,this is when i started to laugh .oh i forgot to say the tv didnt work and the hot water takes about 10 mins to come through ,so it really wasnt funny anymore so i went to see if i could get another room (down at the Complaint Area)the girl was really helpfull and she gave me a key to another room to have a look, that was even worse as it was stinking so she gave me another room ,,which was lovely and the tv worked ,the food was really nice and some of the staff where lovely but some were not so lovely ,,sorry i dont believe in ...you get what you pay for with this hotel it needs to be pulled down and rebuilt ,i went there with caladonian travel and the driver and people on the bus were brilliant we all had a great time and im sure if it wasnt for them i would have had a terrible holiday ..i would go back to babbacomme but never to that hotel ,sorreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee x
