Cannot believe the negative comments. One of the best two star hotels I’ve been in. If I wanted four star I would have stayed elsewhere. I have no negative comments on this two star hotel, the food was of an exceptional high standard.
Stayed in room 62 which was on the west side of the hotel. (Not serviced by lift) but it was on the first floor and easy to get to. The room was of a medium size, clean and maid service was done whilst we was at breakfast. T.V. had no remote , but we just used it for the news & weather in mornings. Kettle, hairdryer, Toilet & Shower. Room was more than adequate for our needs.
Food was excellent, good choice, ordered evening meal at breakfast. Fantastic choice with fresh vegetables.
Evening entertainment was great with two acts needing special praise. Raquel Wickes a female 60/70’s singer was fantastic, along with Chris Chaplin who entertained me from start to finish with his jokes & singing.
Would recommend it to others.

A weary looking receptionist gave us our key with never so much as an upward glance.
We took the tiny lift to our second floor room which looked like a mis match of cast offs.
Nothing matched, the bed cover had a tear in it and the furniture was bumped badly.
The carpet looked grubby and I put my slippers by the side of the bed so as not to walk on it. The shower mat was covered in bleach stains and the bathroom looked tired and worn out. Good points? Plenty of hot water and clean sheets. The food was very good and the service in the dining room was excellent. When we got into bed we were greeted by a symphony of springs! The room, no19 was freezing all day and all night. The maid did give us an extra blanket but when I told the receptionist how cold it was she didn't even glance up at me. Not a welcoming hotel.
